Almost got snookered for $1125.00
I needed to buy a recumbent bike to build up my knee muscles. I went to a local "used" exercise equipment store to see what they had. I definitely liked some of their bikes more than others but they were pricy. My favorite trick is buy something then not use it. So I decided to get a less expensive one to see if I will use it. I am using it and it is great. I am getting the same exercise, the machine works flawlessly so far. It is quiet and smooth. Plus I saved $940.00. Putting it together was an IQ test, mostly of patience but if you read the directions it comes out perfect. They give you all the tools you need. I assembled it on a workbench and brought it to the ground myself one end at a time. It has little wheels so you can wheel it around yourself. Be aware that the box weighs 70 pounds from the store. I leaned the shopping cart over sideways and nice lady helped me get it in my SUV. It could fit in the back seat but you might need help doing that. This is a good one, buy it.

Decent Bike For The Buck
For the money, it's a good recumbent exercise bike. Both my husband and I are in our very late 60's and plan to use it. I like the angle of the seat because it takes significant pressure off my lumbar spine and hips like an upright bike would. I have L4 L5 spinal degeneration and Pseudogout in both hips so the recumbent style is best for me. Since the bike is recommended for seniors, I thought the seat and back cushions would be a little more comfortable, but they're only okay. I figure I can put a pad on the seat if need be. It took the two of us about 1.5 hours to put the bike together. My husband mostly used his own assembly instincts and I checked his work against the instructions and a couple of brief on-line videos. We messed up on the tension control knob the first time but got it right the second time. We checked our work using both the included instructions and an on-line video that shows how to install the tension control knob. It would have been easier to understand if the video would have mentioned that once you have correctly seated the tension control cable, you need to remove the black clip, but no such clip was visible in the video and there was no mention of it. The written instructions DO come with that particular instruction and a diagram of the part, but doesn't describe it as black; just shows the shape of the clip. Still, the expanded diagram of that particular spot on the bike is very helpful. One of the bolts on the rear main frame would not screw back into that part well so my husband said he would buy a new one to replace it. Somehow some of the threading got stripped. One of the other bolts on the same part had been installed so tightly that he had to place a narrow piece of pipe of ours over the provided allen wrench in order to remove it. Correctly assembled, I am only able to start out with a tension level of "2". It's been 3 months since I've been able to use any type of bike due to acute hip injury so will take a while to work back up to where I want to be. If need be, we'll readjust the tension control knob innerds again. You don't have to take the whole bike apart to do that. Overall we recommend this Exerpeutic 1000 rebumbent bike. I'd give it a "5" except for the less-than-optimal comfort of the seat. If it's recommended for seniors, the manufacturer should consider senior needs. If it's too uncomfortable to exercise, a senior won't exercise as long as they could/should. I'd be willing to pay more for a cushier seat at least. It would also be nice if the seat could be adjusted up and down. When I ordered it, I thought it could be adjusted up and down (senior moment), but was disappointed to learn that it could not be adjusted up and down (for my 6'3" hubby). So if you're on a fixed income and have a bit of "assembly know how", this bike is worth it. If you don't have the "assembly know how", you can pay $89.00 for it to arrive already assembled-keep in mind the "experts" could also assemble it wrong

    Under 5'9"
Love love love the bike. Smooth and quite. It took me a little extra time for me to put together because my fingers don't work well. (Arthritis) BUT if I can put it together anybody can. It came in a box that was packed so well I was amazed. Nothing ever comes packed as good as that did. If your under 5'9" it is a little hard to reach the pedals...not impossible. I put a small pillow behind me and it works perfect!!!! I TOTAL recommend this bike!!

Easy to use, great work out!
Pro's -Great workout for the price. -Comfortable seat. You do have to unscrew knobs to move the seat. My husband and I are the same leg length, so this is not an issue for us. -The monitor and pulse tracker are awesome. -Various levels of resistance. -Rollers on front allow you to move it to a different room easily. -Wide seat -Great workout! Cons - The foot pedal strap is not large enough to go over a tennis shoe. So we've added a rubberband to the last opening to attach it to the pedal. (From the bottom of my shoe to the top underneath the strap is 3.5 inches)

    Great
This is a great machine. I am 75 and I had no trouble putting it together, it took me about 1 1/2 hours. I work out on it 5 days a week, I am diabetic and need to exercise 5 days a week and this helps me a lot.

    Great value for the Price!
By ordering on line, I wasn't sure the quality of the recumbent bike I was purchasing. I am extremely pleased with the quality and ease in which I was able to assemble the bike myself. Had to carry pieces of the bike into the house because the package was too heavy for me to carry. Delivery person left the package on my front porch. I am exercising for the first time in years and set the tension on the lowest setting and watch Netflix or Amazon on my ipad while peddling. Hopefully I will progress to the higher tensions. There are 8 tension settings which are plenty for me. I looked at recumbent bikes in stores and the price was more than I was willing to spend not knowing if I would stick with the workout and truthfully I feel this bike is the same quality with less tension numbers. If you are a professional athlete you may need a bike that has more tensions and different terrain settings. With the weight limit at 300 lbs. any member of my family may use my bike. My goal is to use the bike to exercise for weight control and cholesterol maintenance. Exceeded my expectations.

Exactly what we were looking for!
I needed an exercise bike that was easy to use and not cost a fortune. This was it. It took less than 1.5 hours from my 12 year old son and I to set this up. Within a couple weeks we put on well over 100 miles. I work out with a gym at work but now with the winter cold can't work do anything outdoors on the weekends. I had open heart surgery last August and wanted to keep active during the weekend. Thus I was looking for a comfortable bike that had the ability to report my distance, speed, and some other items like heart rate but didn't need the expensive electronics like iPOD or TV. It was also a major plus that this is very quite so I can work out while others are watching TV or just having conversations with other family members. Now that i'm using it the rest of my 5 kids want to use it. So it is helping out the entire family. So far this was a great purchase for the price (around $200 for everything including an added couple year warranty).

    Better than expected
Didn't get to see this item at a store before my purchase so I wasn't sure of the quality and sturdiness. Bought this for family member who is close to the 400lb mark. Their weight is over the recommended for item but any equipment for their weight far surpasses our budget. Have been pleasantly surprised. Machine very sturdy. We haven't noticed the center bar sag mentioned in another review but if it occurs will probably follow suit and just add a support block. Assembly took just over an hour by myself. As mentioned by other reviewer the directions could be a little more specific while being a little less "engineeric". The moving of the seat for different users requires adjustments in three places. While this is a little cumbersome it is not difficult and I can see where it adds to the stability of the seat. The machine is EXTREMELY quiet and if you have one of the adjustable rolling table it would be very easy to read or work on computer while exercising. We had planned on placing it in the bedroom but the machine is also much less obtrusive in a room that we were expecting. Because of this it is now in the main living area as if it were a recliner. Benefit - It is almost being used as much as the recliner!! Weight will start falling off soon!!

As good as I'd hoped - I love it!
I read a lot of reviews of various brands of recumbent exercise bikes and selected this one because it claimed to operate very smoothly and quietly and was within my limited budget - in fact, it was most competitively priced of any other vendor who sold this model. I had it assembled. It is very quiet, I can easily watch TV during workouts, it feels solid, the seat is comfy, the motion is smooth, the information displayed is really helpful and the bike is small enough to easily fit in wherever you put it or you can move it easily with the attached little front wheels. It feels like a really high quality, well-made solid machine and I am so glad I made this choice. I am 67 yrs old and after 6 yrs of inactivity due to kidney disease, I received a transplant a few mos ago and this was the only sensible exercise choice for me since I have lower back osteoarthritis that makes walking painful until I can build up my core muscles to support my spine. Exercise is vital for me to fully regain my strength and this is painless and I get to watch TV while I do it or talk on phone or read.

My only negative comment for this excercise bike would be that if you have extremely short legs, it might not be the right bike for you. Our 17 year old daughter has to put the bike as far forward as the seat will go and still almost feels like it it too far back. She is 5' 4". Other than that it is a great bike for the money. Oh - not really a negative comment, just a heads-up, the instructions for putting the bike together were a little confusing at times and it took my daughter and I about 1 hour to get it together. When we got it together, one of the wires had disconnected and I had to take it part way back apart for my husband to strip the wire and then we had to hot-glue the wire back together to the connector so that the display screen could read the message being sent from the peddles, but that was just a minor issue. But overall we are VERY pleased with this bike. Just what we were looking for to get started on an "at home" exercise routine.
