Great real-time monitor for elec/charging system
Plugs in and tells me precisely what the battery charge and alternator activity are. Acts like the old-time dash amp meter used to (don't know why the manufacturers eliminated that). Switch from car to car to check charging situation. It seems very accurate.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/01/2019instant display.......This "Innova" battery monitor is a quick way to check your "battery voltage" and "alternator voltage" all in one package. Before starting your car (when the car is not running), this monitor easily plugs in to your cigarette lighter, and you get an instance display of your car battery voltage. As you see in my picture, it show's 12.70 and a "green" light, indicating "full voltage". "Yellow" light would indicate "low voltage" between 12.1 to 12.4 volt's in your battery, and "Red" would indicate, get help quick before you drain your battery and "time to locate the problem". Then while the engine is running/driving you will see the "voltage display" spike in voltage (13.3/14.4)green light, indicating " your alternator is working ", anything below 13.1 yellow light and a big red light 12.6 you might need to check your alternator or just use the helpful quick tip's included in package, to locate your problem. Great battery monitor to have onhand and can be used/switch from car to car to check your charging situation, in any vehicle. with a cigarette lighter. This would make a great gift, for the car gadget's person.h22o

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/21/2017First things Firstwhile you're waiting for innova tool to arrive, do these steps first: check your alternator drive belt for tension and condition. next, clean your battery posts shiny clean. check your negative battery cable has a good ground to motor or frame and it's clean and not all rusty or whatever. check your battery cells filling to proper level with distilled water if your battery is not gel sealed or similar. now you're set to plug in the tool. check voltage before starting with key on. to get an idea of what this tool can do for you, turn on a heater fan or something similar like parking lights. you will see voltage immediately drop. now, start the car/truck/mh or what have you. the voltage drops when starter cranks. so, now your motor is running. notice voltage rise to almost 14 volts or similar. this tells you alternator should be working fine. next time you drive your car, plug in tool. check voltage while driving if you wish. my neighbor borrowed mine and found his alternator was not working as expected. he promptly replaced his drive belt and cleaned all. i live in the northwest. our weather is worst for batteries. battery maintenance in northwest is almost a religion. anyway, buy this tool. it can save you an ugly headache of no start in grocery store parking lot. by the way, walmart installs new batteries and does so in a professional manner (we know and use walmart batteries) at no charge for install.webrumor

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/02/2016Exactly What I NeededMy Hyundai Genesis was giving intermittent "Battery Discharge Warning" error messages. The car does not have a volt meter & the dealer said everything tested fine. So I purchased the Equus Innova 3721 volt meter & plugged it into one of my power ports. It didn't take long for this little device to pinpoint that the Genesis charging system does not charge based on electrical load but rather on operating settings. So far the only times I have observed it charging are when the headlights are on or if the headlights are off, when the car is coasting with a closed throttle at speeds greater than 5 mph. So now I burn the headlights on all the time, the system charges all the time, & I have not seen any more error messages. The volt meter was well worth the $10 it cost.Satisfied

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/08/2014Plug-in voltmeter was "a perfect fit".I use this voltmeter to provide an inexpensive way to get a reading of my camper battery's voltage, so as not to under or overcharge it. I installed a weatherproof power socket right on the battery box, located on the trailer tongue, and hooked it up to the battery terminals with an in-line 10 amp fuse on the positive lead. Then, because the voltmeter is a plug-in type, I can easily pull it out after getting a quick reading, and protect it from the weather. Afterward I can plug it into a power socket inside my tow vehicle, so as to monitor the tow vehicle's battery as well. The meter has digital and lighted displays that are easy to read. Although just installed, it looks like a winner.DCPowerMan

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/04/2014Great little voltmeterWould not leave home without one of these in my car. Love knowing battery and alternator status versus just waiting for a red light to light up on the dashboard. This is my second one, lost my first in a move or it's in a storage box somewhere.AJAY99

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/07/2014Does what it claims to do.Allows me to check the battery voltage with and without a load and gives me an idea what the impact is of turning on accessories. Handy since it resides in the "cigar lighter" when taking measurements and doesn't require more hands than I have available. Use it to check battery condition before launching boat. Clearly not a laboratory quality instrument, but good value for price.grolympia

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser03/12/2014Great product and valueThis product makes it very easy to evaluate alternator and battery issues instantly. Large digital readout. This is my second one. My first one lasted for many years. This is an excellent diagnostic tool and the price is hard to beat.booch01

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser03/03/2014Super Value and AccurateBought for its two decimal readout and adjustable head. When I checked its accuracy against a $150 Fluke DIgital Multimeter, the Equus voltage was within 0.02 volts. Wow! Exceeded my expectations, and at $13 it is a great value. Every RV or Boat should have one as a primary or secondary battery monitor.b6fischer
