This Cooler is very well designed. There is a Drain and Plug located on the bottom right side facing the cooler. The screw-in plug is designed to allow drain water to flow through it without being totally removed (see attached pictures). This will help from losing the plug by not having to completely remove it. There are slots and triangular openings on top of the cooler but under the lid on both ends (see attached pictures) to install tie-down straps or bungee cords and prevent the cooler from sliding or flipping over. The 4 foot pads located on the bottom corners are made from softer material than the cooler that should reduce sliding also. The foot pads also keep the cooler raised off the ground to allow for air to circulate under the cooler and help keep it from heating up from the ground below it (especially on hotter days). The 2 front corners have thru holes in them for installing locks to prevent the lid from being opened when needed. The exterior surfaces of the cooler are without many high and low spots or surfaces that help when wiping down and or cleaning the outside (a big plus for me). The latch mounting hardware stainless steel bases have oblong slots in them so that they can be adjusted to help keep the top lid tight against the cooler. It would have been even better if the latch bases were made with longer slots, but it shouldnt take much adjustment to keep it tight. It has an "Emergency Bottle Opener", Yes thats right! Its located at the top latch mount base and under the lid. Try not to wear it out. I wish I was allowed to attach more pictures but I did my best in the descriptions. There is a blue label on the front of the cooler that states that the cooler holds ice for 10 days (as if 8 is not enough). This is my first investment in a really nice cooler and I think I made a great choice. Fast shipping also!

    Bear Resistant Cooler!
    This ENGEL 35 Quart 42 Can High Performance Roto Molded Ice Cooler Chest is the best cooler I have ever used. This cooler can be used camping, hunting, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, tailgating, etc. Once you close the cooler, it becomes airtight so everything inside stays colder longer. I put ice in this cooler on a Thursday and I still have ice in it on a Monday. I really like the latches on this cooler because they're really easy to lock in place when closing the cooler. No struggling to keep it closed and secured. The latches are made out of what feels like rubber, and some metal so it's very durable. The latches actually double as a bottle opener on the front of the cooler that makes it very convenient for any event. The carrying handles are made of rope and a handle molded for hand and finger placement for easy carrying. There are also 2 pad lock holes, 1 in each corner of the front of the cooler, for extra security. This ENGEL 35 Quart 42 Can High Performance Roto Molded Ice Cooler Chest is actually certified bear resistant when the lid is bolted or pad locked together. That just let's you know how durable and tough this cooler really is if it can withstand a bear! All in all this ENGEL 35 Quart 42 Can High Performance Roto Molded Ice Cooler Chest has been a great addition to my outdoor sportsman activities. It keeps drinks and food cold longer, and it maintains ice for days. I highly recommend this cooler to anyone in the market who wants to upgrade their cooler. This is a very well made cooler with limitless potential for any outdoorsman.

    Very durable!
    I received this Engel 35 quart high performance cooler from TryIt Sampling and absolutely love it! It definitely comes in handy during power outages and hurricanes in my area. It is roto molded for toughness and durability filled with a full 2 inches of insulation in the lid, sides and bottom. What I love is that it retains the cold and ice for up to 8 days which is a plus! The all silicon gaskets creates an airtight seal which is durable! Definitely a must buy.

    Read and watched side by side comparisons between the Yeti and Engel coolers. The Engel came out as a top performer, and at a better price point. Sturdy, well insulated, lasting cooling capability; a winner.
