Compact, colorful boombox with some nice features
I have owned various boomboxes over the years, and at first couldn't believe that an entire CD boombox was inside the small package which had arrived on my front porch, as the boombox was so much smaller than any previous boombox I have owned -- about an inch or two wider than the diameter of a CD disc by itself. Part of this space savings is due to its omission of a cassette player (does anyone still have cassettes in useable condition any more?). However, this Ematic CD Boombox does include both the usual CD player and AM/FM radio, and can operate off either batteries or an electrical outlet (AC power cord included). It does also include the usual extendable fold-down antenna, to improve radio reception. My daughter and I played one of her music CDs and tuned in a local radio station without any problems. What distinguishes this Ematic boombox over others I have owned (besides its small size) are some additional features. It has a plug-in for external headphones (which my previous boomboxes may have had, but I never used). It also has a plug-in for an AUX cord, which allows mobile phones and other devices with sound output (such as MP3 players and tablets) to use the boombox as an external speaker. In the case of mobile phones, connection via AUX cord also apparently allows one to convert one's phone into a "speakerphone." Although I didn't have time to have my daughter make a test call to my phone while one of our phones was connected to the Ematic boombox, I was able to use the boombox as an external speaker for a music streaming service on my phone, and was able to ask 2 different digital assistants (one of which was "Hey, Google") for the current local weather, with the digital assistant responding via the Ematic boombox's speakers. (The Ematic boombox is also supposed to have Bluetooth audio connectivity; however, I was unable to test that feature, as I know very little about using Bluetooth.) The red color of the exterior trim of the Ematic CD boombox is quite eye-catching, and matches the red microwave I will be placing it on top of (replacing an old boombox that barely works anymore). The compact size will allow this boombox to fit in the tiniest of dorm rooms or studio apartments, and this could easily be all a high school or college student (or young working adult) needs besides a laptop computer to supply all of his or her entertainment needs. Highly recommended!

Great little boombox!
Ok, so I am super happy with this little Ematic cd boombox. At first I was surprised by how small it is. I honestly expected it to be about twice that size. That had me wondering how it would perform. The following are the results after fully testing every function: Everything functioned perfectly right out of the box. Pros: The fm stereo picks up a better signal than my previous one of twice the size. That was a nice surprise. A station I listen to on another boombox comes in fuzzy, but comes in crystal clear on this one! Also the Bluetooth works flawlessly. That was the thing I wanted the most. Phone calls come through crystal clear and I can listen to my favorites list online using the Bluetooth setting. I also tested the cd player, although I honestly won't use that function very often. It also worked perfectly. The speakers don't go super loud, nor do they have any kind of equalizer settings, but they are plenty loud enough for my kitchen where I will be using it 99% of the time. The fm tuner is also a dial, rather than a digital read out. I actually prefer that though, I like being able to fine tune the station manually. I am very impressed with this boombox. It is a great value for the price. I am now planning on buying the next size up by Ematic for my living room. Thanks again Wal Mart for another great product!

    I bought this little CD player because the one I had that attached to my stereo system had stopped working. I liked the price ($30) and thought that it would be a nice fit. It plays just one CD at a time, but that is really all I need. I hooked it up to my stereo to where the sound would be coming out of the big speakers and it sounds great! I would definitely recommend!

    Great quality for low price
    I'm a sticker when buying items online. I checked the review for this product and i have to say from experience this boombox is all that it said it was and more. It's easy to use, even the Bluetooth on it. It even allow you to accept calls while being hooked up to the boombox. Although, I read the review for the black version of this radio I was confident that because it was the same one (different color) it would work the same. I stand correct! Seeing that the pink color I desired made it just that greater. I've been searching for almost 2 years for a reliable, inexpensive, great quality radio boombox and the wait was certainly worth it. Don't let the size fool you it still push out a high volume of sound and bass. It's lightweight radio is easy to carry from room to room, home to outdoor. It simply doesn't get any better than this low cost, lightweight, easy to operate, great sound/bass, loud, Bluetooth compatible boombox radio. Thanks Ematic so much for making an great quality, inexpensive radio.

    Nice little boombox
    I order this nice little boombox thinking it was a bit bigger . When it arrive its actually smaller then I thought .So I wasn't happy about that . I order mine in black but there is other colors available . This Ematic cd boombox is am/fm radio. Has Bluetooth audio and speakerphone . It comes with its cord but you can also buy batteries for it. Batteries are not included . When I turn it on , it was very difficult to find a station . It sounded very ugly . I don't know if its the fact that my room is in the back and its very hard to get good signal . When I found a good station it dint sound that clear . So I put a cd in it to see if it was the speakers or my room. The speakers wore very clear and loud .I love the way it sounded .So I came to the conclusion its my room. It even happens when I am on the phone . I used it like a speaker for my cell and it sounded very loud and clear . It also comes with Bluetooth if you have music on a laptop ,tablet or cell you may listen to it . If your the type of person like me that loves to hear the same music over and over or a song ,it also has the repeat button you can press .I used this little boombox for when I am in the shower , it has a handle which makes it easy to carry around . When I am cooking I carry it to my kitchen . This a perfect little boombox for a teenager or a mom that likes to hear music allover the house like me. I do recommend this boombox to friends . The reason I gave it a 4 star was because I wasn't able to find my favorite radio station but then again in my room it happens with almost every radio I own .

    Crisp clear sound
    This boombox has easy to figure out controls on the back. On one side is a slider switch for OFF-RADIO-BT (Blue tooth)-CD/AUX. There is also a wheel type volume control. On the other side in the back is a tuning wheel for radio stations and a switch control for AM and FM radio. On the top of the back, there is a telescoping antenna that folds down compact. In the middle of the back are the power cord attachment, a place to plug in headphones, and a place to plug in an auxiliary unit. On the bottom of the boombox is the battery compartment, which takes 6 C size batteries. The front of the boombox has a section that lights up a dot, to show you what setting you are in. The top front area, has push button controls for the CD function. There is an area on the front that displays which track of a cd is currently being played, and when it is stopped, will tell you how many tracks are on that cd. To open the CD part, you just press down on the dot on the lid, and it opens right up. The sound is GREAT !!!! It is very crisp and clean. the volume goes from very quiet on the low settings, to pretty loud on the higher settings. The sound coming through the headset when I had it connected, was awesome, I could hear background instruments and tones, that I can't normally hear when playing the same disc in other players. The radio stations come in loud and clear, rather the antenna was up or not. The blue tooth easily found my blue tooth output from my computer and tv. The issue I ran into there was, when using the blue tooth, it kept causing me to lose my wi-fi internet connection. I also tried that out at another house with more updated equipment, and the same thing happened there. To get my wi-fi internet connection back, all I had to do was take the boombox out of the BT mode, and wait a couple seconds for it to reconnect. When not on the internet, and watching a movie, it was fine, and I was impressed by how clean and clear the sound was. I could hear all the talking very well, while it seemed to keep the background music and sounds in the background, making it more enjoyable to watch the movie. The boombox is about 4 1/2" tall, 10" wide and 7" deep, making it easy to fit into relatively small area's on my desk. It weighs about 1 pound, which makes it ideal to take along with me, just about anywhere I want to go. Overall, I am very impressed with this boombox, in looks and function. I do wish it had worked out better with my internet connection, but that was not an important issue to me.

    This is a really nice Boombox.
    I've had several Boom Boxes over the years but none of them were like this one. The Ematic CD Boombox with AM/FM Radio, Bluetooth Audio and Speakerphone is great.First of all I love the color the electric blue is really nice. I picked it up by the handle and to me it is very light weight. The first function I tried was the Radio and I got great reception for all the Radio channels I wanted to listen to. Then I tried using it with one of my CD’s and the sound was crystal clear.All the functions are clearly displayed on the CD Boombox which makes it user friendly. However it does come with printed instructions on how to do the various functions and instructions on how to use it safely.You also have the option of plugging the CD Boombox cord into an outlet or using batteries to power it up.My husband wanted to take it to his job, and our son wanted to take it to his room, but this one is just for me.Over all I was quite pleased with the CD Boombox and now my husband and my son plan to get their own for Christmas.
