A great laptop for the price
My laptop is the i3 version, it's the most basic but since I'm not doing any intense work on it, it perfectly fits my needs. The casing, although plastic, feels very nice and premium. I first thought it was aluminum. The lid does flex a bit when pushed, but that's normal for non-metal laptops. The keyboard is particularly well built. Keys are extremely quiet and solid with great travel distance. I've only seen keyboard of this quality on a few laptops. The trackpad is okay for a Windows laptop. It can be unresponsive at times but it's not a deal breaker. Although the screen is an IPS display, some calibration needs to be done to get the best image possible. The default colors and contrast look extremely washed out and doesn't do the screen any justice. One small issue I have with this laptop is the HDD. It bottlenecks the computer's performance quite a bit when it's doing a lot of file reading/writing. Swapping it for an SSD should eliminate this problem.

Hardware not FULLY supported by Dell
This little laptop has everything with one glaring flaw and one poor feature. I will just focus on the two problems because everything else is great! The glaring flaw is the not-great touchpad and the NO AVAILABLE DRIVERS for it. This means that you can only change the most basic settings that are available in the generic Windows 8.1 settings. You cannot change sensitivities, edit gestures, adjust tapping, etc. And the touchpad REALLY needs an adjustable dead zone at the bottom, where the buttons are, because it is VERY hard to right/left click without also moving the pointer. So you end up clicking the wrong thing all the time. Very frustrating. And, of course, this begs the question: if Dell is not providing drivers for the touchpad, what else might they not support on the system--especially in the future. Please note: if you do not care about drivers for the touchpad, conisder my review 4 stars and I would recommend this system to you. The one poor feature is the slow HDD--it really needs an SSD, without increasing the price (even if this means much less storage). I think the slow HDD bottlenecks the entire performance of the system. The system performance is good as is, but I suspect it can be a lot better. Also, an SSD should increase battery life (not sure if the increase will be very significant though). Thankfully, it can be upgraded (I have read). Oh, one of the main features that sets this Inspiron apart from its competition is that it is upgradable. So you could buy a little less up front and upgrade later. As far as I know, most of the competition is much more limited in this area. Don't skimp on the CPU, though--you can't upgrade that.

    Inspiron 7000 i5 series 7537reat Machine
First and formost, I am very greatful to a very intelligent sale lady, Ms. Nancy L. , who pointed out to me the Inspiron 7000 i5 7537 (Two-in-one) laptop before I saw it on the web. Second, a few months before this purchase, I bought an XPS-13 i7 which is an excellent machine. However, if I knew the Inspiron i5 7537 was in the making, I whould have waited for it. Now I am waiting for the Inspiron 7000 i7. Third, the Inspiron 7000 i5 two-in one, in my humble opinion, is rivaling the XPS. So far I have not found anything to complain about it.

    Great little laptop...after some servicing
I did copious amounts of research before deciding to go with this laptop. I wanted something small but not too small and I knew I wanted an Intel processor, at least an i3. The price point was perfect. This fit the bill and was terrific...for the first 48 hours. Then I started to experience these "ghost" touches on the screen - small vertical circles up and down the screen like someone was using the touchscreen (but I wasn't). And the machine would freeze up on me making it unusable. After several customer service instances (they were great) they gave me 3 options: (1) return for my money back; (2) exchange for a different/same laptop; or (3) replace the display. I chose the latter option because I really like the size and speed of the laptop. The parts were sent to the technician and he was at my house in 2 business days. He said it's something he'd seen before and the display may have been damaged and/or misaligned after shipping. Replaced the screen and I'm in love again :)

    Great for Graphics
I am totally thrilled with this 2 in 1 and I use it that way. I installed SketchBook Pro V6 and as expected the passive styles did not work. After checking with sales support two different times with different people, I took a chance and ordered the Dell Active Styles. The new styles V02 worked perfectly. It took a bit of testing but I do have multi levels of pen pressure. This unit won't compete with tables designed specifically for graphics, but I sketched a mountain scene with trees just beautifully.

    OK laptop
The keyboard has decent tactile feel. The touch screen often doesn't respond, to the finger or to the stylus, sometimes it comes back, sometimes I just use the mouse pad because I cannot get a response even after waiting. The screen often jumps to a new window (or opens a new window), even though I am being careful to not accidentally brush against the touch screen or the mouse pad. The touch screen was popping out of the lid along one edge, but I pressed it back in. The whole display often freezes for a few seconds. Yes, you can turn the laptop sideways, and the screen will reorient... for a few seconds, and then it usually pops back to the normal orientation. If I shake it harder, it will go back to displaying sideways.

I Want through 2 before calling it quit. When in use it would appear as if someone was touching the screen. I would have things just pop open on me. I love the idea of the product and will try again after the product has been out for a while. Maybe? At happened a lot...

    Dual Boot w/ Ubuntu 14.04.1
After looking at hybrid laptops for some time, I read about this one from Dell a few months back that was going to be released, so I waited. And after receiving it, I could not be happier with this system. By trade, I'm required to work in a full Linux environment and needed a new system to replace my aging HP 8510p. Installed Ubuntu 14.04.1 on a separate partition and was quite pleased with the results. (Be sure to create a W8.1 recovery USB stick prior, just in case things go wrong for you.) The only thing that didn't work out of the box was the touch-pad itself. In order to get around this just 'sudo vi /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf' and add the line 'blacklist i2c-hid' save, then do 'sudo reboot'. This will then come back up with a working touch-pad that forces Ubuntu to use the SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad driver instead. So far, no major issues with native hot-keys, SD reader, and other hardware such as the keyboard that disables when flipped into tablet mode. It does not look like the orientation flips though in tent mode, unless manually set in display settings. More investigation on what can be done on my end for this I suppose in order to make it automatic. I may replace the current drive with an SSD for an even greater performance boost. Overall, a fantastic replacement!

    Excellent computer
This is the best Windows computer I have ever had, and when one considers that the price is significantly lower than most ultrabooks, that is even better. I travel frequently for work, and I wanted something that would be light since I also have a laptop supplied by my work. I also wanted something that could work on a plane if someone put their seat back. Also, since I have a work laptop, I liked the idea of the tent and display options for watching a movie while I worked on another computer. Now I wish I could leave my work laptop at home and just use this baby. It is wonderfully light. The hinge appears to be as sturdy as any laptop and the 360-degrees options are great. Those were two of the reasons why I wanted this model. The surprises though have been many and all positive. I love the keyboard. If has a great feel for me, and I like typing on it. The backlighting is something I wanted, and now that I have it, I am glad I do. I have not used in a dark room, but even in a light room if has a nice effect. The track pad has been great too. My wife had to tweak the settings on her Dell laptop, but this one has been great out of the box. Speakers are also better than expected. They have a nice volume and sound quality for both music and movies. Performance has been great. I have not pushed it too much, but it has been responsive. I was thinking about swapping out the drive for a solid state drive to speed things up, but so far I see no need. Also, I like having so much storage for my large music collection. I could see storing movies as well for viewing while traveling. The screen size and resolution are great. I have not had any concerns about not having enough screen space. This is the exact size I was looking for as it is compact and portable without being too small. My wife is not a fan of the touch screen on her laptop, but I have used it quite a bit. I have been looking at different options for my personal laptop for a few months, and I am very glad I got this one. The other brand that offers a similar model is much more expensive and does not have a full-size HDMI port. (The port will come in handy for work presentations.) Other brands were more expensive for the same or a reduced configuration. I also considered buying a new, larger tablet (I use a 7 inch now), and this computer negates that need while offering more upside. I did not want a cdrom/dvd, and I already have a portable one if I do need one. I keep forgetting that a stylus comes built in, which is nice to have. I have not tested battery life yet, and in general it is day two of use, but I am excited so far. I bought my first computer 28 years ago and I have lost count of the number I have had since then. I am used to technology that does not work as promised, but that is not the case here. Since no one else has provided a review yet, I wanted to share my reactions with other potential buyers. I can imagine if you want something with more screen real estate that you might be disappointed with this model, but the benefit is the portability and flexibility in how the screen is positioned. I am interested to seeing what my wife and kids think when they see what it can do. I think they will be jealous!

Excellent PC for Home or Work
I already had a Dell XPS 8700 Desktop, and the Dell Inspiron 17 7000 laptop, I wanted a 2 in 1. I purchased the Core I-3 model and out of the box it was a great machine. I upgraded the hard drive to an SSD and added 8GB of RAM. This is truly one of the best computers that I have owned.
