So magically easy to clean
The OG of my kitchen. Even though I have a pressure cooker, I still whip this baby out to get my slow roast on. It's a lot easier to clean than my pressure cooker and I don't have fear of melting my face off. Some days you just want to eat and not spend an hour doing dishes. I just eat straight from the pot on these days. I can also confidently have it on without fear of burning my house down. IT'S JUST SO EASY TO CLEAN.

worst crock pot ever!!
delivered on time undamaged. seems low and high are the same cooking temperature. outside metal gets very hot while on. there is no seal on lid creating a constant sputtering sound while cooking. I am going to try to fix the lid problem. I have no way to send back so I am stuck with this terrible crock pot. Don't buy this one. wish I had spent more.

    Great Little Slow Cooker
I recently got a Hamilton Beach 5 quart portable slow cooker and am extremely happy with it. It's perfect for making smaller portions of soup, chili, etc. In actuality, you can even cook a roast or entire chicken in it. This model has a high, low, and a keep warm setting. Simply place all of your ingredients in it and allow it to work its magic. If you aren't ready to eat when it's finished, turn it on the keep warm setting until you are. This particular slow cooker is portable and has a lid latch strap. It is great and keeps things from spilling when I am carrying meals as a potluck or to share with a friend. I love this feature. This particular slow cooker has a removable crock that can be placed in your refrigerator, oven, or microwave. The exterior can be wiped off with a wet cloth. The crock and glass lid can be hand washed or placed in your dishwasher. I highly recommend this slow cooker!!

Perfect for a family of four
Love this purchase after my old one died (they only seem to last about 4 years now). I tried purchasing one through Amzn, but was unhappy with the style as it was a locking lid and just didn't fit my needs. Walmart came thru for me with this replacement. Perfectly sized for a family of 4 and cute appearance on the countertop. I find the cord is longer than my older model. Always great when the crock is dishwasher safe!

    always dependable
love my crock pot! insert is not too heavy for this old lady, cleans easily. I especially like the round, rather than the oval. size is great for 2 people.

    Old Time Crock-Pot
I had one of the early crock-pots that lasted years and cooked wonderfully and was always reliable....but sadly it finally went bad after many years of use. I bought a larger crock-pot of another brand and found that always overheated and often burned the food. I bought this 5 qt. crock-pot over the internet from Walmart and fount it to be like my older crock-pot and it cooks wonderfully and can always be relied upon. I especially like the manual temperature control as you know precisely how it will cook the food.

    Dinner, Meals Deliciously Prepared
The 5-Quart Manual Slow Cooker by Crock Pot is very nice to cook in for four to five people. For one to three people, I can cook and save or freeze leftovers, then, do not have to cook again for a few days. This is my first experience cooking in a slow cooker. The recipe I used is from the Crock Pot web site for a 3-4 pound whole chicken. To make it extra tender and flavorful, I used the slow (low) instead of fast (high) cooking method. After a bit of preparation, I left the slow cooker and spent time on chores all day. Being the first time using the cooker, I decided to be home and make sure it is safe to leave on when I go out all day. The Crock Pot 5-Quart Slow Cooker Model No. SCR500-SP weighs 10.5 pounds. The outer pot casing is smudge proof stainless steel with a manual knob with four settings: off, low, high, and warm. The settings on the slow cooker work by heating up to from 180oF to 300oF for low or high, using a low 100-200 watts. The Crock Pot requires a heat resistant surface underneath so it does not harm a wooden surface. The thick ½ in. inner container is removable and its inner lip is ¾ in. wide. The strong, circular cover is dishwasher safe glass with a stainless steel metal edge. The cover fits on the lip sealing the crock pot, keeping steam in that bastes the food, and making the food cook by containing the heat. I like the clear cover to watch the food browning, see moistness, and know when it looks done. I must say I truly appreciate the science behind this invention! For an experiment, I cooked an 8.5 lb. pork butt, half in the Crock Pot and half in a pressure cooker to see the difference. The slow cooker on low wins making the most delicious pulled pork I have ever tasted in 7 hours. It seems like a good idea to use the Crock Pot Slow Cooker to prepare my holiday boneless turkey breast. For one to four people, it can cook all night while I sleep. Then, I can serve dinner early in the day without doing all the hard work then.

Indispensable item of cookware for me
This is an improvement over my mothers Crock-Pot that I used years ago. That one only had high and low temperature settings. I'm old, male and not really into cooking a lot of fancy things, but this slow cooker has made things a lot easier. The most important thing for me is that it has a 'warm' setting to keep food warm as well as the 'high' and 'low' cooking settings. The clear lid makes it easy to quickly check the food you're cooking. It has a handle on the lid that is cool no matter how hot the food is allowing you to remove the lid to add ingredients or stir without needing a pot holder or oven mitts. My first use was to make beef BBQ using 5 lbs of hamburg. It came out perfect. That amount of beef BBQ lasts for several days, so being able to reheat it without ruining it is important. Reheating beef BBQ in a kettle is hard and time consuming because you have to heat it slowly over a period of time and stir it every so often so it doesn't burn. I left the beef BBQ in the slow cooker, so a couple hours before dinner I turned it to the 'warm' setting and took care of other business. By dinner time it was heated perfectly. I fixed a Black Forest ham next. I put it in the slow cooker, added a small amount of water and set it on low for 12 hours. I took the ham out after 12 hours and let it cool before slicing it. The meat is so tender it practically melts in your mouth. Cleanup with the slow cooker is so easy. After it cools, remove the liner and wash the liner and lid with the rest of the dishes.

    Great Crockpot For It's Size
I have been used to using larger crockpots, but I have to say this one is great! It is perfectly suited for 2 people. I made chili and it was delicious. I started it on high and it warmed up very rapidly and it cooked very evenly. After 2 hours I put it on low and it continued to cook very nicely. Again, I love the size of this crockpot. Easy to use and clean. It is very lightweight which is a plus. The only drawback is the length of the cord. It is just too short. I had to use an extension power cord as it would not reach the outlet on the wall. All in all, I am very pleased with this and can't wait to try more recipes.

    loves it
I am a nursing student and it is super hard to study, come home to 4 kids and cook. I am able to put in the food into the crock pot and just let it cook on slow until I get home. Makes it super simple to just serve the food and study without having to worry about what the kids and I will eat and then having to prepare it. Makes it super helpful for the super busy days.
