cute and functional
This is very cute and functional. I wish the steps stayed under the chair when you move it, they slide out very easily. They also don't seem like they would hold a lot of weight. I always wanted one of these for the nostalgia factor plus it's a higher seat for me as I am six feet tall. The price was great as I have seen these for the lowest price of $99.

    The Red One Is Perfect!
    I have a retro kitchen and this is awesome! Used constantly. I love using it as a step ladder to reach tall shelves and it's also very comfortable for me to sit on vs other bar stools because my feet go on the steps since I'm short. I would probably have gotten the turquoise but it wasn't an option when I purchased mine a couple years ago. Has held up wonderfully!!

    We love this stool. Both of my great grandmothers had one when I was growing up and now my children can help me in the kitchen like I did with my great grandmothers!

    I have been wanting one of these for years (reminds me of the one we had when we were little)...i saw this one and it was little cheaper then most that I had seen but thought i would try it. I did not realize it came piece by piece but thank goodness it had very simple and easy to follow instructions and I completed it and it is awesome!!! Fits perfect in my decor and my space..it will be used alot and I would certainly recommend to anyone that is interested !!!

    We remember these stools from the good old days in the late 1960's and 1970's. This is okay but not made like the older version. The steps slide out rather than lift out. So when you are sitting on the stool and have your feet on the step, it moves about unlike the original version that did not move. Certainly not as sturdy. The original version had a seat that flipped up so you could stand on the steps to reach something, this doesn't and has a sticker warning not to stand on the padded seat.

    Retro Black Counter chair/step stool
    The Chair/step stool looks great in my kitchen. The price was reasonable but I was a little disappointed in the padding and size of the seat. The step stool part is a little unsteady for my liking and the first step in a bit high for an older person. I have trouble standing while in the kitchen and it does serve my purpose for little rests while cooking or washing dishes. I would recommend it for a younger thinner person but if you are looking for comfort it's not for you.

    Sturdy Stepstool
    I must admit there was more assembly required than anticipated. However, the instructions were very clear and explicit. Once I had it together, it is sturdy, and nice looking. I wanted something for my laundry area in the basement that I could sit on while waiting for a load to finish. Also needed a step stool to reach upper cabinet shelves. I was getting tired of hauling a step ladder downstairs every time I couldn't reach high. Now I have something that serves both purposes. It also reminds me of a very similar chair/step stool we had in our kitchen when I was growing up.

    Yes NEW kitchen stool !
    Good old fashioned kitchen stool like we had as kids. If you need a kitchen stool and are sorry that you pitched your Mom's then this is for you! Although I still need a quick step stool to reach upper cabinets, this stool is a plus in the busy kitchen area , or for just having a cup of afternoon coffee at the counter. I bought this and put together (easy) for when our 2 year old grandson was visiting, since he was getting a bit fed up with the idea of a high chair, this looks better in the kitchen anyway. The chair seems solid and though it is just new I am happy and will hang on to it this time. Yes, the steps slide back under instead of flipping like some of the old ones did. Maybe America could continue to manufacture products like this and how we used to. Sorry the quality seems pretty decent as well .
