I love this canopy!
I live in an apartment that has a very small backyard, and was looking for a canopy small enough to fit and still have room around it. This canopy is perfect! The size quality and everything is excellent! Great job Coleman for making such a great canopy!!

Torn Canopies
We have 2 of these canopies that give shade to our chickens. Both are wearing out and have tears after a year. We would like to purchase replacements but can't find a replacement. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    UV protection must have washed off.
    Increase durometer thickness and UltraViolet protection don't leave it up over the winter it will be rags.

    It's okay for the price.
    Hello, I purchased this canopy to keep me out of the sun as much as possible, while watch a parking lot. The canopy took 20 minutes to set up, but then again I rarely have set one up before. It appears well made. The only issues were the height. I'm 5'5" and I had to bent a little to go under, but could stand fine inside, with a few inches to spare. When the sun is between 11am & 2pm it is just fine, but at any other times, you have to move with the shade. Sometimes you are out from underneath the canopy. It would be an even better canopy if a detachable side flap was provided that could catch the sun as it moves down in the sky. I would pay extra for that feature. Thank you for reading.

    Great sun shade but it is too short.
    Except for one detail, this Coleman sun shade meets all of my expectations. That one detail is that the 7' x 5' instant canopy is really too short to stand under at a sports game. From the ground to the top of the legs (the top of the green vertical section of the canopy) it is only 69". No where on-line (Wal-Mart or anywhere else I saw it on-line) did I find the height revealed. It needs to be about 6" taller. I am the videographer for my sons football team. I purchased this sun shade because it was 7' x 5' and that is a good square footage for erecting it on top of a press box. I am 5' 10" and when I stand under it, I am looking at the framing and the vertical (green) section of the canopy top. I have to flip the canopy side up to see the football game. Not a huge issue but something that might matter to you if you are taller then me. If your plan is to sit under the shade, then you are in good shape. In the center where the canopy raises up to the peak the height is fine to stand under but you won't see what is going on outside the shade. I am sure the reason Coleman made the 7' x 5' Instant Canopy so short is because they wanted to keep the legs a little shorter for packing it in the case. The case itself is fairly nice (typical of what you might find with an EZ Up brand canopy) and it has wheels on one end and a strap/handle on the other end so you can pull it along. It packs up to a size of 8" x 8" x 34" long. When pulling it along, it wobbles a little bit due to the shorter length. If the Instant Canopy / Gazebo were 6" higher, I would have given it a 5 star rating and also given it an Excellent rating when it comes to meeting expectation. As far as durability, I only gave it a 4 rather then 5. It really is fine quality (equal quality to the EZ Up brand that I own) but there is a small thing about how the legs telescope into and out of each other that I think could be better. When you are extending the legs to set the shade up, they can come out very easily. There is no stop beyond the push buttons that keep the leg extensions in. Again, this is not a huge deal because you can just put them back in but it keeps me from giving it a 5 in the durability category. The set-up is easy. With some effort, I can assemble and take it down myself in just a couple of minutes. But, it is easier if you have one another person to help. This point is true of all these sun shade canopies. Overall, I am glad that I purchased the Coleman sun shade and because it is the only one I could find that is 5' x 7'. I would purchase it again. The price was also right at $87.58 plus sales tax. Wal-Mart shipped to for free to a store near my house. It will work well for me but I just need to flip up the green vertical side of the canopy.

    Great size canopy
    We needed a smaller size canopy that could give us shade on the tennis court. It was easy to set up and to take down. It easily shades 4 people seated under it and the 5' x 7' is a nice size. We do encounter some wind on the court and the canopy has stayed stable without staking it down. I live in Florida and we need shade during our breaks and this canopy has worked out great.

    An excellent choice….
    Wanted something small and this is perfect. Very easy to open up. One person can put it up but much faster with two. What is really nice is the directions are sewed inside the case so you don't lose them. Once you follow them, there is no need for them but they're there just in case.

    bought this canopy to take camping.It is very easy to set up and take down with one person. Seems to be very well made and comes with its own stakes and tie lines. Would buy again.

    great for price
    I am a vendor and some of our market spaces are limited to less than an 8x8 traditional professional canopy. I was delighted to find this for such a reasonable price. It is not as sturdy as a $400 caravan or easy up but works great for sun shade. Only downside was the height- we did have to cut off the little metal feet so we could use pvc pipe to make it 6inches taller.
