The Good and the Bad..
I just recently purchased this grill and so far have been happy with the way it cooks. The steaks and chops I have made so far have been juicy and tender. The burgers and brats were great as well... The construction is good, it feels nice and solid, and it is a nice looking grill. It is one of the easier grills I have put together, and this good thing too. That being said.. I am not sure I would go with this grill again, or recommend it to a friend for a few reasons.. First, it is very hard to clean compared to a regular grill. The tool that is supplied with the grill is pretty much useless. I Just purchased a new brush I am hoping will work better, the one I had from my regular grill didn't have bristles lone enough to get to the little holes. The documentation claims that if you heat it on high for 15 minutes everything will turn to ash and can easily be brushed away... not the way it works in real life! The holes get clogged and the tool they sent with the grill does nothing to clear them. Next, the temperature adjustment is very limited. It seems to only adjust between 600 and 680 degrees, so if you don't watch it closely it goes from sear to burn. The add claims it goes from simmer to sear, this is not exactly true. There is not a lot of difference between the hottest to the lowest temp, like I said, about 80 degrees. If you watch it close it is usable, but its not what the sales brochure claims it to be..

    Grill
I have owned a lot of grills through the years but this is certainly one of the best! It has exceeded my expectations. Assembly was simple, instructions were easy and it took about two hours.

    iNFRARED GRILL
Love this grill. Been using mine for 2.5 years & I love the way it cooks meat evenly without the flare up like regular grills. I can actually put chicken on the grill & it doesn't come off charred black. So happy with the infrared grill, I have recommended to two of my friends who have both purchased one. The one I purchased most recently is a Christmas present for you son & his wife. Can't wait to see their faces on Christmas morning. Thank you Char-Broil.

    Well made grill
Had to order this from the Walmart warehouse and when we got it home took about 2 hrs to put together. Packed very well and instructions where good but could have used some written help but worked. We did find a very small dent in the door but I did not want to take back to Walmart so called Char-broil and they are going to ship me a new door so you can't ask for more that that. I seasoned the grates as stated in the manual and grilled hamburgers and have to say there where the best we have had in many years. The tru-inferred is the best way to go and I will never go back to a regular gas grill. This grill is very well heavy built and it does clean very well about 97% as they say it does but you must follow the cleaning and seasoning instructions. It is a little more work to keep the little holes cleaned in the grates but the flavor of the food is well worth a little more work. I also recommend the Char-Broil grate brush with red plastic tips as it cleans much better that a brass one. Overall the best grill we have ever cooked on in many years. Happy grilling. TS

    Cooks wonderfully, but...
The infrared cooking is great. Burgers cook through completely but stay juicy. I picked this up at the store and it was assembled for free. The only down side I have found is that with the design of the cooking greats, the ends are completely closed so you can't just brush away the cooked off debris. You have to remove the grates to completely clean them. Removing them is a little tough as well. You need something to hook under the end to lift it. If the grate assemble was open on the front or back, it would allow you to brush it clean. I also found that even running the grill on high for 20 minutes didn't cook everything off the grates. Still had a bit of greasy residue in the front and rear of the grates. I was looking for a grill that was very easy to maintain so these issues matter more to me than they might to others.

    Only Way to Cook
I can't understand some of the poor reviews, this grill is the best I've ever had. I have a Ducane grill that cost a $1000 and the hottest it can get with the lid closed is about 400 degrees. The assembly went smoothly, took about an hour. I agree with other owners that the instructions need some written advice. They show assembling the igniter wiring with no guide as to which position the wires go in. We figured there must be no difference and everything works just fine but there was some apprehension when we tried it. The Tru Infrared cooking is incredible! I love a nice thick steak, especially a New York Strip black on the outside, pink on the inside and a cold beer or two. I have searched for years for the grill that would give me the heat I needed without flaring up and burning the steak and I have finally found it. I guarantee once you use an Infra-Red grill you will never go back to any other type grill. If you follow the cleanup instructions as I have your grill maintenance is virtually nil. Enjoy a nice meal this summer with a great grill!
