Bulky but reasonably priced
Love these but they are bulky. I'd rather have dumbbells, but since weights are unbelievably overpriced at the moment, I wait for these to come in stock (the $20 ones, not the $70 ones) and order them. I can switch them out fairly quickly and the bar fits other metal plates

The rod is not strong and breaks
You get what you pay for. It broke when i put it down. Glad it didn't break on my face when I was doing bench presses

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/17/2022Nice budget set for smaller handsThese are well designed, solid weight plates and handles. The clamps are adequate and should secure the weights safely on the handles during most any exercise as long as the motions aren't extremely fast or jerky. They will be perfect for beginners or the experienced. My only complaint and the reason I removed two stars is the grip is too narrow. My thumb and palm are pressed firmly up against the plates causing discomfort. My hands are not particularly large either. Most dumbbells' handle grips are 4 7/8 inches or wider. These are 4 inches. 7/8 of an inch doesn't sound like much but at nearly 51 years of age I still lift at least 4 days a week and I do not want any unnecessary discomfort, sores, calluses on my hands. I will not be using the handles at all but will incorporate the vinyl plates in the rotation on my cable/pulley system. All of my other plates are steel or cast-iron but these vinyl covered concrete plates, while taking up more space, will be fine and can free up a few of my smaller plates for other bars. I would recommend the CAP Barbell 40lb Vinyl Dumbbell, pair for anyone wanting a budget set of dumbbells but be aware they are made for smaller hands.James

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/17/2022Broken and not what was advertised. Avoid. The set is not what was advertised. There are 4 x 7 1/2 pound plates instead of the 4 x6 pound plates that were in the description and what I wanted. Plus one of the plates is broken and leaking sand so I can't use it. Total disappointment but a pain to return.Skip

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/25/2021ok for the priceThe description on the website says 4 - 6 lb weights and 4 - 2.5 lb weights. I got 4 - 7.5 lb weights and 4 - 2.5 lb weights. In any case, this product would be much better if it came with 2.5, 5, and 7.5 lb weights.Matt

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/24/2021Great for the price, the description is wrongThe description is wrong, it brings (4) 7.5 LB. plates not (4) 6LB plates. It's great because it's about half the price of the steel weights.soli

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/17/2021Worth the $40This is overall a great product for $40. When assembled the weights are wobbly and there is not a grip big enough to fit both hands (say if you were holding on for overhead tricep). Even with the clasps on the weights shift when you move which takes some getting use too. The one big downfall of this product was there is some sort of sticky film. They definitely needed to be wiped down (I was going too anyway but this made it a must) once it was out of the box.Lisa

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/26/2021Came deformedOne of the rings on the plates came deformed and it made putting them onto the pole harder. Otherwise they seem like solid dumbbells except for the fact that the pole seems a bit cheap and weak so we'll see how long it lasts`. Also keep in mind they are each 20lbs for a total of 40lbs.Jason
