Had an old Kenmore cabinet model that was just too big and cumbersome for my new place. ( Downsizing) I found this machine easy to use. It's well made and it sews very nicely. Was able to finish up a throw quilt I'd been working on for three years. The old cabinet model was always a gathering place for stuff and so it didn't get used as much as it should have. Was always a chore to pen up and spread out. This one fits nicely into a bag storage case and is so easy to carry around and then store in the closet.

Disappointed
I absolutely loved this machine at first, until i began to top stitch with it. The bobbin seized with oodles of thread bunched under the material and now it wouldn't work. It was the first day I used it!! I returned it to the store the next day. I bought it for $129, went to order a new one and they were $200. Very disappointed.

    Great machine!!
    Love this machine, especially the machine self-threader, But the overall machine works perfectly. Also, I love the fact that it's easy to move around. I have and have used the Brother serger and that is also a great machine! I'm a very experienced seamstress, and would strongly recommend this machine.

    A Great Brother sewing machine for good price
    Arrived safely, very well packaged, everything listed in the ad was in the boxes. It is brand new as advertised, works well so far, I like it.....Great colors, well deisgned, like having one chord to use instead of multiple chords like some machines need. I would recommend buying this machine from Walmart. Good price, fast shipment, well packaged.

    Thrilled at the performance of this basic machine!
    I loved everything about this little machine. It is a smaller machine than what I am used to, but it sews like a dream. The stitches were even, the tension never messed up unless I needed to change the needle and it had several extra's such as the thread cutter and many different stitch patterns for a basic machine. I am giving it to my granddaughter for a starter machine and then I am purchasing another one for my RV. Great buy!

    The Best starter sewing machine ever!
    This is my first sewing machine and after much research I settled on this Brother XM2701 as it has many reviews as the Best first machine! It came in one day, packaged very well. Everything was there including all the accessories. The setup and first use guides are very good I also used several Youtube's to help me! It has an automatic needle threader device. easy to use! The bobbin also is super easy as it automatically picks up the lower thread when you start sewing! A super nice sewing machine! I love it.

    Great sewing machine
    I had purchased a Singer Stylist a few years ago. I always had a problem with the tension and Singer support was useless. I got so disgusted that I gave it away and purchased the Brother XM2701. This sewing machine is awesome. The stitch is perfect and I was even able to hem a pair of fleece lined denim pants without a problem.

    Check your machine
    The upper and lower tension threads never aligned. The thread kept bunching up. I'm past the RETURN date. It's useless to me. I'm not new to the world of sewing either.

    Well worth the price.
    I have used this machine for two weeks. I am an experienced sewer. My old sewing machine needed costly repairs so I decided to purchase a new one. I wanted a simple machine without computerized features. So far, I am satisfied. It sews smoothly. It is fairly quiet. I have not tried to sew knits yet. My only complaint is that the instruction book could be better. The illustrations in the book are rather small. If you have never sewed you might get frustrated trying to figure it out. However, it comes with a DVD that is good. Also, you can find good videos on you tube.

    Great machine, super fast delivery!
    My 14 year old machine gave out. I read and researched for a reasonably priced machine and this model kept coming up. On YouTube mask tutorials, I noticed that some listed links for items used in their tutorial. This model was linked on many of them. So, having made my decision I thought I could just order one. Looking for a sewing machine during a viral pandemic was looking bleak. I happened to recheck Walmart online again and one popped up and I grabbed it! The expected delivery date was 2 weeks but at least I had one. It was delivered through Tech Mate Deals. I was ecstatic that it arrived in 3 days!! This machine works great, easy to use. Instructions came on a DVD but is on YouTube too. I am extremely happy with my machine and delivery service!
