Christmas Gift
This item was purchased as a Christmas Gift. It is under the tree and has not been opened. I cannot comment, as I don't and won't be using it. I will be happy to ask the person getting it what they think about it and give you that feedback, if you wish.

Please don't buy this!
I have had problems with this machine since day one!! I watched hours of videos to make sure I was doing everything correctly before I finally opened the box, it sat unboxed for over a month and from day one it was clear this machine was NOT worth the money! I went on here and read reviews and spoken to retailers and I was told that 10-20% of these “mass produced” machines are no good! I tried to return it to Walmart and they said no way, it had been too long even though I had not opened the box for a while I was past the return time. I contacted brother and they said they wouldn't take it back either. Upon opening the box I couldn't get the automatic threader to work, and within days of using it learning the right tension and settings, which FYI my machine restricts me from using only certain threads and stabilizers! Otherwise the thread breaks very often, even with some expensive threads, or it bunches constantly! Once I had the “right” brother thread within the first few days thread got caught inside the machine! I was embroidering a name and mid way threw thread got caught inside the machine! I would love to know how that was my fault? I went online and found an “authorized repair shop” and they said brother refused to cover it! They told me the “warranty” really doesn't cover much and basically that this machine was garbage and I should buy one from them that cost over $5,000! And they would 100% back their products. When I originally bought this I also bought “coats and Clark embroidery thread from Walmart” and at stitch 22 the thread would break, over and over again. I went to Joanna and they lady told me to try sulky so I did and again break at stitch 22. I would take it to the repair shop and they would use their thread and stabilizer and it wouldn't happen. So they thought I was nuts. I saw someone online use any kind of thread with their machine but not mine. Nope mine only works with specific thread and stabilizers. I also bought my stabilizer at Walmart “lightweight tear away” I also saw someone online use that same stabilizer on their machine! This same one. But nope not mine! I have one of the 10-20% ones that do not work correctly. I questioned myself, is it me? is it my room a garage enclosure? Is it the thread? Is it the stabilizer? But then I happened to mention it to my next door neighbor she has the exact machine! And hers doesn't have the problems mine does!!! She can use almost any thread, any stabilizer! She brought me over and showed me how she uses it then I made her use mine! And she had the same issues I do! Finally I realized it wasn't me! It's this particular machine that I am stuck with! With no help at all from brother or Walmart!!!!!

    Okay
The machine is great except my specific machine I've had problems with it since I bought it, it won't work properly all my embroidery designs end up failing because my machine constantly stops!

    Unfair pricing
Paying full price for a machine that was sold before and used. I tried to register the serial number and it was already registered under someone else name.

Great features but quality does not exist.
Although I love the features of this sewing machine, it never worked properly. The bobbin thread kept looping and after multiple adjustments and cleanings and calls to the brother service center, I just gave up. There is no way this machine was checked by quality control. It was a lemon right out of the box.

Apple / Mac Read this !
I want to write this review to help people save endless hours of frustration with a really great machine if you use and Apple Mac Desktop, not sure about Window but I use Mac. In order to format an USB plug in drive (so you can download the 400 FREE designs) you will need to format the USB to FAT32 to do this Use a new flash drive / or erased one SanDisk is fine, click applications on your Mac (In finder), click on Utilities next Disk Utility (make sure you flash drive is plugged in and there is nothing on it you would want to loose, move mouse down to the SanDisk (be careful and double check you choose the right drive) or whatever USB you are using it will show there a box comes up with 3 things in it under Format choose MS-DOS FAT ! and erase and format. I spent hours being able to see my design packs on my USB but the Brother SE630 would not recognize it, very very frustrating and something no one tells you. The paper is inside the packaging and tells you were to go to get the designs. Brother suggest you use Google Chrome Browser instead of Safari and I did all went welI. I choose to download all (you don't have to you can pick and choose but why get the all) they send them in an email and then you download them and they will be in your downloads, drag and drop ( the file not each design) to your USB (wait for the green plus sign and let go and there they are) As for the machine it self I love it for the price

I started off not know anything about embroidery. I watched people video on how to use. So I started making little things like names, then used some embroidery patterns that was on the machine. Oh my goodness they turned out beautiful. Now I feel confident enough to start my own side hustle of embroidery business. I told my husband that I want one of the 6 or 10 thread Brothers embroidery machine.
