It does not work out of the box
Last year I bought the Boss 612UA because I have all the music I like on an SD card. The first unit I bought did not work out of the box and I had to take it back.
Well, it lasted a year and I loved it. But, it died, and I decided since I liked it so much I would buy another one. I decided to upgrade to the 648UA with more power.
I took it out, changed out the wiring harness, stuffed it into my dash (bigger than the tiny 612UA unit) tried to get it to go on ... nope. Well, I pulled out my meter and checked power, ground and all my connections. Everything checks good. I ran a wire from the battery ... nothing.
Well, I have to take this one back the store too. Been two weeks now with no music.

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/27/2016Inexpensive, you get what you pay forI purchased this to listen to the radio, occasional CDs and for the USB port to listen to things from my phone and ipod. USB port doesn't work at all to play music or podcasts. Not even to charge devices. The headphone jack works... but I'm not impressed.Kevin

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/20/2015Great but not great at the same timeSo i've had this radio for some time now and i would like to say i love it but at the same time it sucks. about 3 weeks ago it started to mess up really bad and it would turn off and turn back on. At one point it didnt want to turn on so i pulled it out to find that the fuse was melted half the way. what i think about this is that its good but not good at the same timeNightmareV15

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/25/2013Worthwhile to meThe audio quality seems as good as the stock stereo from my 2002 Lincoln LS. There are a couple cons, but they are outweighed by the fact that the stereo works the way it is suppose to work. I can't seem to find the illumination controls that are advertised, but thankfully it's not overly bright when driving at night. The manual can be difficult to understand, but I managed to figure it out. Hopefully it will work for as long as I have the car.Lightbody
