Beware!
This bag was infested with gnats, and therefore infested my entire apartment. Had to throw it out as soon as I realized what was happening.

    Gnat infestation!!
    I was excited to receive my dirt but that excitement soon was over due to the bag being infested with fungus gnats. I'm very disappointed with this purchase!!

    Ground up glass in this garbage!
    Full of sticks, bark and ground up glass! There is also small pieces of obsidian in there! Planted my cat grass in large litter pans to make shelves of cat grass my kitten could lay on in the window, grass 4 in tall and started catnip yesterday when I spilled on floor and cut my foot!! Will not let kitten lay on this! Garbage! Also in ‘Specifications' it says assembled weight it says 16 pounds so I thought I was buying the large bag...it is 9 pounds!

    Price was twice as High as Competitor ?
    Everything was fine about this product except for the price. I paid twice as much for it as I could have on Amazon. I had bought several over the past weeks and boy I should have looked around first. I took pride in the fact I thought I couldn't get a better buy than on Amazon ;-(

    do yourself and your family a favor
    started growing lettuce seeds and whear grass, mostly to keep fresh greens in a daily diet. kind of fun really. this is a high quality, clean and usable medium that produces great tasting lettuce and sweetwheat grass juixe. not sophisticated enough to comparison shop, my experience with organic soils is pretty dated, but there is so much to gain and learn, worth the effort. cost effective, you get about as much net soil using the plant material makes it a growing concern. if you have some one who can learn from this, great way to teach nutrition. nothing tastes better than fresh organic lettuce. there are new slow juicers that are about $100, they don't heat the juice and it preserves rhe nutrients and tastes great. living out of a can is ok, but live plants are so much better and cheaper. this is real nutrition, not a vitamin pill that will damage your digestive system.

    Great healthy , rich , fertilized soil ! Thank you ! I grow flowers and a couple vegetables every year , so I refresh my soil every year . This is a great product for doing that . I even top off my indoor plants with it , freshening them up , even if not time for repotting them yet. My plants thank me , by showing how healthy they are ! No wood chips or crap like insect eggs or gnats ! Big plus !

    Wonderful product.
    When I opened the first bag I was thrilled that it was "soil" and not like other potting soil that I have previously purchased that were filled with bark and "who knows what". It has a pleasant, sweet "earthy" smell. It was easy to work with and it has been over a week since I planted my little balcony garden. All my plants seem to be thriving wonderfully so far. Black Gold Organic Potting Soil will be my first choice every time.
