Stylish, quality dinnerware. Great price!
After looking for well over a year for a stylish, relatively plain set of dinnerware at a reasonable price, I purchased 3 sets of the BHG Amity Dinnerware in October 2014. They are exactly AS PICTURED, not square as described. They are darker than what I would consider Ivory, more a soft beige color with a slightly darker color around the detailing to give it a subtle "antiqued" look. Here are the dimensions of each piece ... Dinner plates: 10.8", Salad Plates: 8.5", Bowls: 6.2" and Mugs: 15.2 oz. All pieces are very generously sized. There are some minor irregularities in some of the pieces, such as minute bubbles or slightly uneven shaped plates (which is noticeable only when they are stacked), but in my experience this is normal for stoneware, I do not consider them flaws. My previous set of stoneware was purchased at a more expensive home decor store for considerably more money and had similar imperfections. We use this dinnerware daily and wash it in the dishwasher, it has held up beautifully! No chips or scratches. VERY PLEASED with my purchase!

No on several levels
They look fine but here's what: - Bowls take up TONS of space to stack. Where I could stack my old dinnerware takes up 3 x the space now. - Plates tip when trying to eat on them if you're cutting into food (even with your fork) anyplace other than the center of the plate because the rim on the underside of plate is WAY TOO SMALL!!! Wish I had known to look for that when choosing because now I'm stuck buying all new dinnerware and wasting $$$$

    The dinner plates aren't made correctly.
    The dinner plates aren't made correctly. They are very flat. But they don't stack evenly, either. If you have a dinner with gravy on the plate, it wouldn't take but a little for it to roll off of the edge of the plate. Also, unless you are cutting meat in the middle of the plate, it will flip up if you put a little pressure on it. Most plates have a round center rim on the bottom and that gives the plate stability. These plates do not. Also, the color looks like it is a bone color in the pic, but it's actually about the color of something before going into a kiln. Much more grey. The rest of the items are okay. If I hadn't tossed the packaging for the two sets I purchased, these would be going back to the store.

    Can only recommend with a caution
    These dishes are nice but we often eat in front of tv and I think they are flatter than typical dinner platter so it's easier for any dinner liquids like melted butter or meat juice to overflow. There is a bumpy border (which does not detract from the dishes appearance) which makes it unlikely actual food pieces will accidentally spill. If you always eat at the table these are fine

    BH&G amity dish set
    Love this set. Everything arrived unbroken unlike the one set I purchased at the store to make sure I liked it. I really like these dishes, the plates are nice and flat and don't bowl up making everything to to the middle. The cups were my favorite, nice and big. The bigs are really bid as well and nice and deep.

    Simply great neutral dishes
    I love these dishes in that they are rustic looking but not overly done. The color is warm and goes with everything. I am disappointed in the difference in what I assume is lot numbers. I bought three sets and one set is just enough different in the way it's made that you can tell. The inside boxes were also packed differently than the other two boxes. I'm not sending them back, but just be careful and check your boxes before you leave with them. :-)

    Timely Arrival
    This was a gift to our daughter as it was on her Christmas list. She loves the dinnerware set and it made us happy to see how much she enjoyed the gift. We bought two sets (the first in a local Walmart store and not able to find the second set she needed we went on line and had it shipped to our local store).. Made for a great Christmas.
