Fan Stopped Working after 3 Weeks
I bought this cooling lounge last June but the fan stopped working after a few months so I bought another one 3 weeks ago ..and it already stopped working!!! I have to jiggle the cord (where it connects to the back of the cooling pad) to get the fan to work; however, as soon as I let go of the cord, the fan stops. There is no way for the fan to stay on. I just called Belkin and they said there is nothing they can do. The product is defective and the customer service was horrible. Do not waste your money.

    Keep it Cool
    The cooling pad is for my son. His comments before the cooling pad were "this thing is on a thermal melt down". After the cooling pad "Wow this thing really work.

    Noisy, but far better than others I have tried
    I bought this for an old laptop several years ago. After a year or so of use, the fan got fairly noisy at times. When I bought a new laptop for gaming, I decided I needed a "better" cooling pad. I bought a CoolerMaster and after using it for 2 days, went back to the Belkin. While the fan did not work as well as it used to, it still worked better than the brand new one. Unfortunately, the cat chewed the usb wire off and it no longer works. I started using the CoolerMaster again and it gets soooooo hot even with it running from the second I turn on my laptop (even with a built in cooling fan in my laptop). One great thing about the Belkin if that there is a slight inward curve in the middle so that the laptop does not sit flat or nearly flush against it which helps to keep the hot air building up. So, I am buying my second one as I am typing this. Even with the issues, it is one of the better ones that I have used, and it is very comfortable sitting in your lap. Also, unlike the CoolerMaster, the laptop doesnt slide all over the place.

    Great fan.. poorly made
    This is my second Belkin in 6months, has a nice powerful fan which does a great job but the usb cord is super short and is not made very well seems to split very easily and Belkin is aware of the issue and does nothing to help the consumer.

    Waste of $$$$
    Bought this for my daughter at college and has not lasted even two weeks!!! The fan just stopped working for no reason. I wish I would have read other reviews before purchasing it but will not buy another one like this, thought with the name Belkin it would be sturdy and hold up.

    Was great...while it worked
    I've had this laptop cooling pad for over a year. It did the job it was supposed to, though the USB cord was way too short. It stopped working and since the fan is so quiet I didn't know that-until my laptop shut off due to heat. In my case, I think the cord wore out because it was stretched from being too short. I will probably buy another of these tomorrow, but this time I will get an extension so the wire isn't bent. If your USB port(s) are not in the back, you might need one too. It's easy to clean if you have dogs, the little fan panel snaps open and shut so you can clean the fan.

    Better than I expected - I use for lap and table
    This product is perfect for me. My computer is 17" and even though the cord is considered short, it reached the USB port just fine. I use this for my lap and for the tabletop. The only flaw is the decreased airflow when it is placed on a flat surface. It wasn't a problem for me to place a thin foam lift in the front to raise the unit high enough for excellent airflow. I play World of Warcraft and my computer would start heating up while in dungeons, arenas, raids, and extended play. This cooling unit solved the problem. I've owned it for over a month now and I love it; I even bought one for my son. Now my computer stays cool so I can play without worry. Wonderful product. This was made for the lap, not tabletop, so I can understand Belkin's design. I don't mind placing something in the front, and/or back, for airflow when it's on a flat surface; however, in the future I hope they add attachments for people who want to use it for both the lap and the table top. It still gets 5 Stars from me, hands down. The cooling is awesome. Thank you

    Great...while it worked
    I really liked this cooling pad when I first got it. I didn't even notice if it was running. But I didn't notice when it stopped running either. My computer started shutting down because of overheating after a couple of months and the motor had stopped working. Not what I expect from a product. Belkin, you have failed me twice. No more chances.

    The USB cable seems to be long enough for some users but too short for others. For my use I have to use a USB extension as the cable is tight when connected and without the extension, of course that will wear the cable out prematurely. This product is designed to work on your lap but not so good if you use it on a desk or flat surface. The fan is open and exposed on the bottom of the pad. Its a good design as long as it is used on your lap but if it is placed on a desk top or smooth surface the fan is blocked on the bottom and restricts the air flow somewhat. Decent product but should have put in a bit more thought to make a great product. Increasing the length of the cable by just one inch and providing two padded ridges on the bottom to allow full airflow from the bottom while placed on a flat surface would have made this product a five star product in my book and this could have easily been accomplished in production.
