Don't buy it
This train set was the biggest piece of junk I've ever seen!!! Constantly derailing. The rerailer was more like a derailer. I inspected and inspected the track looking for something I did wrong, but it's just plain junk... What do you expect from China? There is no way a young person who ever enjoy this set, unless they liked to see it crash. What a waste of money!

    Very nice trainset
    So that derailment issue everyone is talking about Solved. The train must run on a flat surface. The cowcatcher is very low to the surface of the rails. If the track is unlevel it will catch on any uneven rail connections and cause a derailment. Must check all rail connections first, making sure they are tight. then check for uneven surfaces of the ez-track and correct with shims. Once this is done the locomotive will run smoothly without derailments. simple fix that takes less time than setting the train on the tracks. 5 stars for the whole train set including packaging, shipping and quality. Just take the time to put it all together right

    not what I really expected it to be can not keep it on the track always derails and when you put smoke fluid in it it gets all over the train no matter how slow you try to put it in

    Bachmann trains workmanship very dependable
    If you love model railroading/trains, there is nothing here to dislike. Since my days as a young child into young adulthood, I had 2 LIONEL O gauge trains, passed down from my father. When they finally quit after all those years, I have ONLY had Bachmann HO train sets when I had space in my home to set platform up. That time I've had one spans about 25 yrs. I'm 71 now

    This is a huge train set. Lots of cars. I ordered as a Christmas gift for my son. He has been wanting this set for years. Weve had other Bachmann trains and have never been disappointed.

    HO GAUGE TRAIN
    It was not good for an old guy like me. Too small. Could barely see the small wheels. Also, it would be great for a permanent setup, which is NOT what I bought it for, so I need a G Scale. Thanks.
