Mixing-It-Up with my NEW #BlackAndDeckerHelixMixer
So I received my new #BlackAndDecker #HelixPerformance Hand Mixer as a gift, recently, and decided to spend a few moments in the Black and Decker site today simply sharing with fellow consumers about my "experience" with B & D small appliances. I already own one of the BEST B & D hand mixers ever placed on the market, as my older model is currently about 25 years old, and I am ALSO inserting a quick snapshot I took of it (just to show it off a bit, lol). Nonetheless, I'm an avid food/recipe creator here in Birmingham, AL, and although my older "BlackandDecker #SpatulaSmart model is STILL in pristine working condition, I was ecstatic to receive this new model, the Helix Performance Hand Mixer, as a gift, with it's perfectly-designed attachments AND the nice "storage case" that is included! I was fascinated with the fantastic TURBO functionality, so, as soon as I opened it, I HAD to try it out on some breakfast crepes AND some ultra-fluffy omelets this leisurely Saturday morning. To say I was impressed is an understatement. My BlackandDecker Helix Performance hand mixer "whipped" it all up in a flash. An absolute DANDY o a little appliance. So the efficiency of the turbo feature is ABOVE expectations. I'm a full-on scratch cook who uses only the best and healthiest, whole ingredients in my own recipe creations, so I will definitely be putting my NEW, attractive-designed and mixer to THE TEST in my oh-so-SOUTHERN kitchy, for years to come. And what's NOT to love about the aesthetics and color choices of this model? Right? Be sure to have a gander at my older, Black and Decker, 25+ year-old, #SpatulaSmart model photo. included, that I wouldn't let go of for the world, lol. I thoroughly recommend this fun, new version of an old time kitchen necessity, and favorite, of ALL cooks!~ XO

i hate everything about this mixer!! i shoulda returned it a year ago just never thought about it! i just used it again and it reminded me that i hate it. everything you beat with it runs up the beaters if i could id return it to blackndecker

Not only is it retro cool looking, it's solidly built and works great. If you have ever struggled to get the beaters into a hand mixer, you will love the fact that those days are over with this baby. One beater has a notch and the other has a slot that lets me quickly identify which beater goes into which hole in the bottom of the mixer. AND it has a little storage box for the attachments and the mixer sits on top of them for very compact storage. Bottom line - I am very pleased!BC

I haven't used the dough hooks or the whisk, but the regular ones are neat and work so well. I don't like that the attachments are VERY difficult to get inserted correctly. Sometimes I've spent 5 solid minutes with all my ingredients waiting in the bowl to ever get them attached! From now on, I will attach them prior to mixing my ingredients. I got the green one :) And I love the look of it too.Edwyna

It comes with a couple other different utensils that can be used to mix. It goes super fast mixing, and even has a turbo button for when you need that smooth finish to your batter! I like how easy it is to hold and to operate. Not very loud either love that! I would definitely recommend!Fayefaye2

You have to pay attention to the batter consistency and the suggestions in the owners packet. If your batter is creepy up the tinges it is too thick. I used all beaters and when the consistency was too thick it did creep up once on the silicon. As far as the start up. Start with a good soft stir prior to the lowest setting on the mixer. Start at the top of the product working your way to the bottom alternately in your bowl. Be patient until the dry ingredients are moistened. This blender will not splatter. Also consider a deeper sided mixing bowl if you still insist on zero to 60 in the first 3 seconds! Well balanced and lightweight. These comments are just observation to some other reviews. Great handy mixer for the price. Happy!Cynthia

The dough hooks work really well for pizza dough. I'm not crazy about the fact that the helix beaters aren't metal, but they've held up so far, and they seem sturdy enough.Chuck
