Great Product!
Much cheaper than other sites and brands, will last for years unopened, and great quality.

Don't waste your time -- crushed cans again
First time around I ordered 12 cans. 8 arrived crushed--like they'd been run over by a truck. No way I'm storing those long-term.
Returned to Walmart. Called Auguson Farms who said, "Yeah, that happens. Wanna buy them directly from us at $10 per can?" I asked, "Are they shipped directly from you whether I buy from you or Walmart?" "Yes." "Will they arrived crushed, then, anyway?" "Maybe. That happens."
Like a sucker I ordered 8 replacement cans. 6 arrived crushed--especially up near the lips where the lids join, so no way I can store those long-term. Off to Walmart (again) to return them.
Soooooo not worth your hassle, unless you like hauling heavy cans of lentils back to Walmart.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/21/2016Why buy so many lentils? If you are trying to substitute some junky ingredients in your cooking or diet, these are an easy and delicious way. Substitute lentils for any meat. Lentils have protein, some carbs, a nutty flavor and somehow just make me feel good after I eat them. This is a large package, but they keep a long time. The size may actually motivate you to put more into your diet. All you have to do is boil them until soft, about 20 minutes. Then drain them and add to brown rice with onion, carrots and celery saute'd in olive oil. Add some TURMERIC for super-duper anti-inflammatory benefits. OK, throw in some golden raisins too. Add a fruit salad and Voila! A filling and nutritious and healthy meal. Simple and cheap, too! Make lots, for left-overs.BeanieBeanstalk

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/14/2016Varying QualityThree months ago, I purchased a can of these and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality. I just opened another can tonight and the quality was much poorer with lots of floaters, black-speckled lentils and even some rocks. You should always rinse and sort lentils for this reason, but I was disappointed. They also took much longer to cook which indicates they are older. I still give them three stars because they still taste okay after sorting and cooking.... plus they're cheap and nutritious.Alex

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/20/2015Augason LentilsAugason puts out a quality product. These lentils give the most bang for the buck in value and versatility. I keep some back unopened in the event of a hurricane here in Florida. They can be cooked or sprouted within about 3 to 4 days, which adds greatly to the versatility I look for in this type of food. Well worth the money spent!HealthGal

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/25/2014Great ValueThis is a good deal for the price. It is full of protein, vitamins and minerals. Unopened cans can be stored for a long time, but may not last as these are not only good for you, but taste great. What is better than a warm bowl of lentil soup on a cold day. I would highly recommend these to everyone !venomclan

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/10/2013Great tasting lentil (Chana Daal)This lentil is great especially for cooking the Indian style "Dal" and this particular lentil is not pink colored lentil (Masoor daal) but the yellow lentil which is called Chana Daal in Indian cooking. The taste of this lentil is great if cooked in Indian style.tester108
