Best headphones in the market for the price.
I've bought these headphones twice now. I gave my first pair to a friend who needed them, and the second pair got stolen. I'm about to purchase a 3rd pair because these headphones are just OUTSTANDING. Sound quality is great. crisp highs and deep lows. I've used these for gaming, movies, music, on my PC, and on my phone. They perform great and don't need any amplifying. I've owned the Black ones, then the red ones, and now I'll get the Matte Gray ones because they look dope! I recommend these to anyone. I had the ones that didn't have the detachable cable, which kinda sucked when using them on my phone because the cable would pull the phone off my hand if I didn't hold it tight or weave the cable through my fingers, but that's been corrected with the latest models. For anyone curious about these headphones or wondering if they're good for Monitoring. THEY ARE. If you got a good sound card, you audio files are WAV or FLAC, and you got these, you'll be able to hear every single sound in the song or movie. I also noticed a increase in the range a which I could hear footsteps in FPS games. Since they're capable of reaching such lows, that just gave me a great advantage when gaming. Forever my favorite headphones!

Great audio bad leather bad container
Very good in audio quality. Top marks for it. Best balanced sound. Great swivel design. At this price tag though I would have preferred good leather and also better hard case container to store my precious headphone. This is the only reason it let me down. The next iteration should bring the Bass switch and some more isolation if possible. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE in the next iteration.

I wouldn't say that the frequency response neutrality and detail is up to the standards of proper audiophile gear (open-back electrostatics, planar magnetics, etc.), but then again neither is the price. The impedance on these headphones are a little bit on the high side to be driven to its full potential by embedded sound chips on most consumer computing devices, so I end up jacking up the volume a lot higher than for most consumer-grade stuff.David

My daughter has the gray ones that was last year's special edition mywife has th white ones and my son's got the regular black ones so I just bought these blue ones that way we can all tell them apart and who's who's but they all sound the same they're great I mean these 50s set a certain standard in audio world of headphones today I got gredos for some real good listening sessions at home with a nice headphone amplifier and DAC and all that good stuff but you know but I needed something to go with me everywhere and steel get that nice good sound quality. Just read about what everybody always says about these things I mean everybody can't be wrong , I know there is better cans out there you can't go wrong with these things just get them don't look back you'll be happy.Bobby

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/01/2017Won't buy any other brand of headphonesI bought my first pair (black version) about 5 years ago and they never ceased to amaze me everytime I put them on. The only reason I had to buy a new pair is because my old ones got stolen. The steal appeal is probably the only downside to these headphones.The sound quality is absolutely superb! I tend to have to blast my music in order to hear everything but don't need to with these, and when I do it doesn't strain my ears like most headphones. Although they aren't technically noise cancelling, they get pretty darn close at low music volumes. The sound muffling is also fantastic! I can listen as loud as I want to and no one around me can hear what I'm listening to. One of my complaints for the old pair was the annoying cable length but very excited for the new design with the 3 detachable cable options! The only other bad thing was that the earcups began to crack and become not as spongy but hey I had them for 5 years. I absolutely love and recommend these headphones and I know the several friends that bought theirs because of me would would too!Mason

The good things about this headphones is that , the audio is perfect compare to any other brand , like bose , the audio not really that good in bose . I have 1 cons : the pouch , the reason i write this is because the pouch , unlike the m70x , they have a portal bag , which is better than the pouch . The pouch size is a bit small , so its just nice to fit the headphones , but no space for the wire . this is the only cons .JonathonG

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/12/2015Sounds better than a lot of more expensive Headphones.I have been using it for 2 weeks and it sounds very good and has a rich bass.It is easy to carry and also is good to use in a lot of situation.Also I think it is a very good product overall considering the price.However I would like there to be a slightly bigger carrying bag for better fitting and also replacing the coil cable with the smartphone cable used in the MSR7 since that would make it a lot more convenient.Hunter for good headphones

My puppy chewed the cord off of a pair I previously had, some cheap AKGs I was frustrated with. So I did a lot of research for the best reviewed headphones, affordability and something that would give me a good response and block outside noise, since I am a drummer too. These ended up being the best headphones ever. They sound amazing and you can actually hear low end well, but not super loud like beats. It's a true flat response and it has actually helped me in producing better sounding music. I actually went back and listened to tons of music when I first got them, because I wanted to hear what a lot of my favorite tracks sounded like on them, haha. So definitely listened to some Noisia and Tipper, and it was awesome. I definitely recommend these to anyone. They also came with 3 different types of cable (length). So I can use one for my studio, one that I can take anywhere, and a back-up (the shortest one), The cables come off and you can replace them which is great. So, if my dog decides to chew off the cable again.....I can still keep these :)MohrDrums

I have been listening to music since before HI-FI (70+ years old). I enjoy the portability of my music on iPods and smart phones and the M50x brings out the best of these devices. But hooked up to a simple CD player brings your music listening to a new level. During the recording of "Kisses on the Bottom" Paul McCartney along with Diana Krall and her band they wore ATH 50's. Listening to that album with my 50x's It felt as if I was at Capital Studios with them. Thank you Audio-technica for a great product. You made an old man very happy.Acmcars
