The noise needs improving
After seeing the negative reviews I was a little scared to try this. Although most reviewers are correct on the sound, I have had different experiences with it actually helping with the tangles and knots. The sound is loud. It doesn't bother my dog but it definitely bothers my cat. I think that it could be a little less loud and then my cat would tolerate it more. You use the comb and when you come across a tangle or knot, you push the red button and it cuts through the knot. It doesn't seem to get close enough to the skin and there is a little guard protecting the skin of the animal from getting cut. It also has a little pick to get the hair from the blades. They have a video on the page on how to do this. This device doesn't remove a ton of hair in my experience. I would say that it seems like a nice item. The sound needs improving but so far that's my only complaint. This device takes 4 AAA batteries that are not included.

    Noise
    Its extremely loud. Almost as loud as a table saw. I dont know if it will even work because I can't get it near an animal due to the noise.

    Jams up effortlessly
    I tried this product on two different dogs after the first time using it jammed up. The sad part was it pulled my dog's hair to the point that it made her cry. Also it takes more time to take out the hair from the cutting blade then it took to get jammed. It's not efficient nor effective. I felt as if I was torturing my dog's when I was using it. This product is definitely not a worthwhile investment.

    Very loud
    Product is very loud when turned on. Scared my baby (who is groomed daily but tends to gets knots behind her ears) so badly she pee'd all over me and hid for 2 hours. Now I can't get her regular brush out without her running

    The way the blades are placed in the comb it does not take out the smallest knots. A total waste of money.

    Returning in the morning!
    I have 6 Shih-poo's, they have long hair that need's up keep. I am alway's combing and trimming there coat and yet I still get knots here and there. I seen this advertised on tv and it really peaked my interest so I looked into it. There where more negative review's then positive but I still wanted to try it. Once I got it home and inserted the batteries I wanted to try it on my 2 year old male who had a knot near his belly, a simple place to just trim but wanted to try it out.. When I pressed the button it started no problem but as soon as I started combing his fur where the knot is his hair tangled in the little blade and stopped. I untangled the comb and attempted a few more times over and over again as soon as it came in contact with his fur it stopped working. The last time that it snagged his fur it hurt he yelped and jumped off my lap. Very disappointed..

    Garbage Don't Waste Your Hard Earned Money!
    I have an older cat that has matts and it is hard to pick them apart and gently pull them out. I bought this hoping to make the job easier. First of all, it looks like there is a little cap on the end of the device. There is not, so the part that turns on the end got tangled in her fur, poor kitty. Secondly it does NOT cut through even one piece of hair. The noise isn't so bad, if the product actually worked. Waste of money I highly recommend NOT buying this product it is like throwing money in the trash can.
