Motor is faulty
I have always bought this brand of pump. The old style of pump lasted along time, a couple of years. This new style is just as powerful but the motor does not last very long at all. The first one I bought lasted 2 months. Thought it might have just been a faulty one so I bought another one. It also quit working after a couple of months. I won't buy another one of this style.

    I give it a 3/10 Broken filter? Help!! :(
For about the first 2 months it was working perfectly, it was quiet. I added something to slow the water down just so my betta would be able to get his food without having to chase it around the tank, but I'm not sure what happened but, the filter started making a really loud noise? I took it apart to see if there was something wrong with it and nothing seemed wrong. My mom threw away the instructions so Im not sure if it makes a noise for a reason. I have two fishtanks in my room so sleeping at night because of it is really difficult. I give this product a 3/10 it was great at first, and cheap but probably breaks super easily. Im really disappointed that this happened. I used all my allowance to buy my dream fishtank and I cant even afford another filter right now.

    Terrible do not buy
Don't buy it! I had an internal filter previously and it worked great but died after a few years so I wanted to try this one because it's not fully submerged in water. Did not clean at all and my glass was yellow and slimy, and smelly. Will never buy this brand and will go back to another brand I know works.

    Doesn't work. Waste of money
I had different brand which came with aquarium. Thought will buy a more expensive one, it will work better. But no it doesn't clean properly. The other one which is half the price, works better. Water started smelling and became cloudy in just a day

Good water flow but the impeller has a noisy hum
Pros: Filters fast Good water flow Relatively easy to replace filter Cons: Noisy - I don't mind the water noise, but the impeller spins so fast in order to achieve flow that it definitely isn't quiet. I bought two hoping the first one was buggy, and yes the old one's impeller was noiser (maybe slightly imbalanced?). The second one still has an audible hum that's sort annoying for a desktop aquarium. The pump was meant to replace and aging one that I thought might be quitting, but it was waaay quieter and still moved water. I should've kept it.

    Awful
It never did a great job of filtering my ten gallon, and now not even two months later I am having to completely replace it since it decided to stop wokring. Do not waste your money- pay a few dollars more to get a nicer filter that ACTUALLY filters, or go with another brand (that isn't garbage). Your fish will thank you for not wasting your time and money on this cheap plastic failure.

    Must have high water level.
It doesn't say it anywhere in the instructions or even in the troubleshooting guide, but you must have the water level all the way to the lip of the discharge chute in order for it to work. Even a little below that (yes I've tested) and the pump doesn't have enough pull to raise the water up the intake tube.

Just right for my 10 gal aquarium
My old pump was working good I thought, but when I decided to buy a new pump and installed it, OMGosh the new pump keeps the fish poop from building up in the corners and really moves the water. I just have a 10gal tank and this pump is just what I needed.

Decent filter, but not above 10 gallons
This filter is decent, but it's way too small for above 10 gallons. Other than that, it seems to work well, and I like the bio-cartridge it comes with. Changing the filter cartridges is easy-peazy.
