Too Small For Standard 10 Gallon Tank
Does not fit modern 10 gallon aquarium, and will fall in if not set *just so*. I need a firm-fitting hood to prevent terrarium animals from falling into the 10 gallon water feature. Lights already installed and working, easy to tape over openings. Just 1/2 inch too small in length and width. If you have jumping fish or a cat, don't buy this model.

    The plastic is kind of flimsy, although that wouldn't really matter if it fit the frame properly. There's a lot of gap around two sides of the lid when I put it on my tank, which is the same dimension the lid claims to fit. The feeding hole also doesn't have a lid or cover, which is kind of dumb. The lights seem ok. I'm really disappointed that this lid doesn't fit the tank it claims compatibility with.

    It fits perfectly on my 20"x10" 10 Gallon fish tank, openings are perfect for filter and heater, it has a small window for feeding. Lights are quite simple, nothing fancy but they do their job pretty well. Overall is a great product at a great price compared to others out there on the market. No more fishies jumping outside of the tank!

    great lid just don't have a cat.
    this is a pretty good lid and there is a lot of cutouts for filter, cords etc. this is not an ideal lid if you have a cat but fine if you don't have one. there are no flaps in the feeding cutouts, the LED lights provides plenty of light but it gets a little warm keeping your tank one degree above normal. an air pump tube will also fit just fine.

    Very good!
    I use this for a holding tank before moving fish to a larger tank. It has a great little filter that is very quiet. if you are using it as a starter... let it run for a week with distilled water... and just a couple feeder fish first to acclimate the tank.

    I've had an aquarium as a kid growing up and this came with everything you need for a first time fish owner. This was my first time using tropical fish like tiger barbs and the red finned shark fish. It's been 3 months and doing great. I added two bubble wands on each end for a feature which requires a separate air pump. The filter is okay but there isn't any movement so that's why I added the bubblers for the fish. I'm looking at the upgrade, 20gallons because the fish are growing.

    Works well, but could be better.
    I am using this hood for my betta fish tank. It's working, but I would prefer the cutout for the filter be on a different side or have multiple slots. They didn't explain the size of the cutout in the description, sadly, so I had to find out in the comments/questions. Still, I would recommend.

    Inexpensive but effective cat control
    Compared to other hoods the cost cannot be beat. Yes, plastic is cheap, but it functions as needed (keeping kitty paws out of the aquarium, so their Fish TV can continue without interruption). LED lights are very bright.
