Best flat iron ever!
I've been using the same Andis flat iron since 2007. I have moved 5x since then and yes, my flat iron is still with me. I am african american with very coarse (natural) hair, which I believe they call 4c, and this flat iron works wonders. My mom has a Revlon flat iron and it doesn't heat up enough for her relaxed hair. I use my flat iron and she's walking around moving her head from side to side just so her hair bounces with each movement as if she's doing a hair commercial. If you pair your Andis flat iron with Silk Elements Heat Protector spray, my hair looks as straight as weave. I've had the comments where my friends would tell me that if they didn't see me flat iron my hair with their own eyes; they would think I had a wig on or "tracks" in. I love the way my flat iron has the dial to be able to close the flat iron for easier storage. I loved this flat iron so much that I also have the 1 1/2" and the 1/2". This same 1" iron that I have has been dropped by niece several times and STILL works the same as when I bought it. ABSOLUTELY love this product!!

I returned the item
When turned all the way to the warmest setting, it was barely warm. I could put my hand directly on the ceramic plates without it feeling hot. I returned it.

    Horrible!!
    This used to be my favorite flat iron but, the quality over the last couple of years has literally turned to trash!! The last 5 that I purchased, have all quit on me within 2 months (8 uses, MAX!). They just stopped getting hot. This is such a disappointment and waste of time, and money!!

    I would recommend this flat iron. This is my 3rd one. Heats quickly and works great on my hair. Each one I have had lasts about 5 yrs

    Not for me
    I did not like this flat iron. I have had about 5 in my life and this one did not glide through my hair with ease. The plates smelled as if they were burning and it left that smell on my hair. Returned it and bought a different iron (Conair PRO at costco $29.99). The Conair one left my hair shiny and my hair felt silky. I love my new Costco flat iron.

    Wonderful Flat Iron
    This is my second Andis Flat Iron. My first one was the exact same one and lasted 14 years! The only reason for replacing it is because I dropped it on the tile floor in my new house but it still works.

    Poor quality
    My daughter has a CHI straightener. My husband suggested a try this one to save money since she was going away and I couldn't borrow hers. Well, talk about dragging on your hair and making it all static and not achieving any style. I have thicker hair however you get what you pay for...the CHI was most costly but entirely more effective.

    Very Good Flat Iron and Highly Recommended!
    I purchased this iron from Walmart through the .com and waited about 1 week or so but it was worth it! This iron heats up fast (30 seconds) and stays hot throughout styling. It feels so nice in your hand ~ not cheap. For only $16.97 it was more than worth the wait; the price could not be beat. The iron shuts itself off in approx. 1 hour which is great also in case you foget. And it clamps shut when not in use or when traveling and I like that feature. Makes hair flat and shiny in no time at all; no repeat working of strands. Plus, it has a 5 year warranty so I liked that also. I would highly recommend this iron to anyone!

    Not what I expected!!!
    I was excited to receive this product since the reviews were great. Once I received it I used it the very same day. I was so disappointed. I don't have curly Hair and it is usually real easy to straighten my Hair in seconds. This Product didn't do the Job at all.....I went over the first strand several times and it appeared to be straight...once I moved on to the third strand the first one already lost its shape completely. It usually takes me under 15 minutes to get my mid Hair length done....but with this product it took me forever and once I was done and went outside....within a half an hour my Hair started to look very frizzy and out of shape as if I had not done anything to it. Very Disappointing!!

    Was not that sure about this because some reviews were great and some was not but any who I just said I'll but it and I just got it on april 20th 2011 1st let me say that im a black woman and we need flat irons that heat up quick and is good at what style we are trying to get my hair is thin curly/wavy I have red and jet black color in my hair so I needed a better flat iron since my hair ir curly/wavy and thin it really don't take that much heat to get my hair strig anyways I put it in and it heats up so quick I was so happy with that my other bigger flat iron didnt even do that also this is my 2nd flat iron ever because I was so use to using my bigger VIDAL SASSOON flat iron I really didnt think anything else worked my bigger flat iron heats up in about 30 to 45 min but the andis 1' heats up in sec so this is a must have
