Great Works as expected
We purchased several clippers for our Cocker Spaniel including a cordless Wahl and had to return. Could not complete one clipping. The andis is excellet and works great and the clippers do not get hot on the dog

Not pleased with this product's performace.
I purchased this item because the less expensive Wahl clippers absolutely do a poor job shaving my dogs. Pretty disappointed with this product too. Looking at the reviews, I presumed I was making a good purchase. Upon shaving the first dog, a 15 year old shepherd/collie mixed breed, the clippers would not do very well removing the under hair next to the dog's skin. They pulled her hair and made shaving this dog quite a chore. My other dog, a 14 year old Burmese Mtn./ shepherd (first dog's offspring), went somewhat better. I still had to "fight" clippers to shave this dog. I grew up on a farm. Back in the "day" we had a set of clippers used to groom our dairy cows. They were a lot bigger in size, but they would cut through about anything easily...even matted hair that had dried cow manure mixed with cow hair. Does anybody make a dog clippers that actually work better? I really did not want to spend several hundred $ to groom my two elderly dogs.

    Great product for the price
The day I received the Clippers I shaved 6 cats, one after another. Through the first few cats the clippers stayed cool enough. With the last three cats I had to stop a couple of times during each cat to cool the blade. I didn't purchase any cooling spray, so I used an ice pack covered with a thin cloth to cool it down and it worked great. The Clippers cut through the hair quickly and easily with only two nicks out of 6 cats. It was the first time I'd ever shaved any animal and the Clippers were very easy to use. I also used pheromone spray to calm the cats first. It won't put them to sleep but I believe it helped. I decided to shave my indoor cats because somehow we ended up with fleas in the house. It worked and the flea problem is contained. Since I shaved them I have been spraying them once a day with a 50/50 solution of apple cider vinegar and water. It works better than advantage and is natural. I will be continuing to shave them on a regular basis every few months because the reduction of hair in the house has been awesome. I would definitely recommend these slippers. Great product for the price.

    Great
My cocker spaniel is 10 years old, has a lot of hair. I give him a haircut every 2-3 month and for all those years I couldn't find a clipper that was as good as this one is. I had wired, wireless, different brands clippers. After every cut my dog was feeling miserable and needed about a week to adapt to his new condition. It took me 2-3 hours to cut his hair so I felt not better as he did. I decided to spent a little more money and got this clipper. What a difference! It took only 1 hour to cut his overgrown hair; I wasn't tired, he wasn't tired. He feels great and looks neat. I used it ones but I hope it will last for years. Only one downside is that it is a little heavy. I definitely recommend it to everyone.

    Excellent for thick/matted hair!
We had reviewed several products online before purchasing this Andis set. All reviews pointed to a much more expensive set. These clippers are amazing! We had an Australian Shepherd with terrible mats from being kept outside in a kennel. She now feels much better and is a happy healthy indoor dog. Clippers went right through her fur. Highly recommend!

Good clippers and worth the money.
Had some difficulty cutting my poodle. However, she was very matted and she is very difficult to handle. I had scissors handy, so was able to finish the matted areas with them. The clippers did go through her fur which I was unable to do with the cheaper priced clippers. The clippers did get warmer than I thought they would.

Not good for dog with thick hair
I have a lab/retriever mix with short stiff hair on back and long plummy hair around shoulders and hind quarters. I could not get this clipper to go through the hair (either one). She now looks like a ridge back dog with marks from the clipper all along her body. I used all 4 attachments but none worked very good. It did take some of the hair off but it was very uneven - not a good buy for the price.

Quiet and powerful! I have a rescue German Shepard/Border Collie mix. Her coat is so thick and coarse, it takes 15 minutes just to get her coat wet to bathe. Of course, in the summer, hair just falls off as she walks, although I use a furminator on her frequently. I hesitated trying to clip her because she is petrified of storms, hates big truck sounds, motorcycles, and lawn mowers, having lived her first year of life on the streets. However, after reading the reviews about this one, I decided to try. Not only does it give a great cut on such long hair, it is quiet enough that she stood still for me, walked away a couple of times to take a break, but came right back for more. She actually enjoyed it, not to mention the improvement of fallen hair on my floors. Now her coat is short and much more comfortable for her in the sun. The different sizes of attachments enable you to choose the length. The ceramic blade is wonderful. I wish I had done this years ago.

    Great buy
Every summer I dread stripping my Goldie/Chow mix dog. He has a huge double coat that defies cutting. I even bought a set of sheep shears at the local feed store that wouldn't do the job. This Andis clipper is wonderful...cuts well, stays cool with the ceramic blade and has a very heavy duty cord.

Great Product! Andis makes great professional clippers and beard trimmers, my Barber owns several. I used these clippers on my Golden Retriever. He had a thick heavy coat as you may know. I did not use the plastic guards that came with the clippers, because I wanted to take his fur down to a length of a 1/4 inch for the summer. With each pass of the clipper, the fur came right off. The blades are super sharp and the motor seems super charged. It took me an hour and a half to completely and neatly shave my dog, and the clipper blades didn't get warm and show no sign of even being used. You'll get what you pay for with these Andis blades and motor!
