Great buy
You can not go wrong with this measuring cup. It's a nice thick, heavy glass with a defined spout. Measurements are clearly labeled in a bright and bold red color. This measuring cup can easily handle hot liquids and it's microwave safe. The Anchor brand is not only reputable, but it's also very affordable and made in America

Etching FAIL
I bought this to replace a another brand one that was unusable because the markings had faded. I had high hopes since I have had good luck before with Anchor. Not SO. After 3-4 cycles through the dishwasher it is useless as a measuring cup. So sad. Apparently there is a warranty.

I use it pretty much every day and just can't do without one. I was thrilled to find this one and I bought 2 just to have a spare. I use this for much more than just measuring. I love that I can measure more than a cup of liquid without doing any math or using another measuring cup. I use it to cook in the microwave. I love it for soaking oats overnight for creamy oatmeal in the morning. It also pours nicely from the spout making it a perfect little pitcher to warm maple syrup. Yes, you should buy 2 of them :-)Dot

The first time I used it, I needed to measure 1/3 cup. Imagine my surprise when I saw that it did not have 1/4 or 1/3 cup markings. The argument might be that one wouldn't use a 2 cup measuring cup for that, but I was "stacking" my ingredients: 1/3 cup of this, 2/3 cup of that, then breaking the eggs into the liquid for beating. Took it right back to the store.Cathy
