A great carrier
It is a great carrier. A bit of overkill for 2 bikes, but better to be safe than sorry. We are happy we purchased it.

scrap iron. The inner dimension of my hitch receiver is 2" the outer dimension of the rack with the shim is > 2". A Bench grinder may bring the size below the size of a hitch receiver. Without the shim it's useless in a 2" hitch receiver.

    Narrow support arm span, entry level at best.
    Assembly was very easy. Built quality was pretty good. One major issue was how wide apart the support arms are. The distance between the arms is barely acceptable, they need to be at least another foot apart. Fortunately I'll hardly be using this but if I need one more often, I'll be buying something else. You get what you pay for and I should have spent a lot more money.

    So far so good, driven about 1000 miles with a bike on it. More secure than the last bike rack I had, still has some slight movement. I do use a strap to keep the front tire from moving around and I can still open my rear hatch on my Ford Focus by just moving the handlebars of the bike instead of having to drop the poll.

    Well-made bike rack, good design, good value
    Bike rack arrived boxed, well protected from shipment damage. Nice and shiny, well made, heavy materials. Instructions were minimal but I got it figured out quickly. Assembled it with a few wrenches quickly, and fits well in my smaller-sized hitch on my car. Looks nice, well made, hinges away from car for easier loading when needed. My only complaint is about how it mates with the hitch, and this not unique to this bike rack: without an additional strap or support, it rocks back and forth in the hitch - which is annoying and can be damaging to the hitch, the rack, etc. I use an additional bungee cord from the rack to the end of my car's bumper to tighten the rack in one direction to minimize this unwanted movement -- and problem is mostly resolved. I would buy again.

    Be careful
    The rack itself seems fine and well built the issue I'm having is it is very unstable and wobbles side to side in the hitch receiver. Have the smaller 1 1/4" receiver so needed to remove outer sleeve which makes bike rack to small for receiver.

    This is a very good quality bike rack for the price Easy to assemble and use. Has a built in lock and you can adjust the tension so it fits tightly in your receiver. Holds two bikes safely and secure.

    I have a Thule for 4 bikes but it is too heavy for me loft and to connect by myself and I was only transporting one bike. This product ia not as study but it safety held the bike, did not wobble and was light enough for me to use @ 65 years old
