30 hours of a little excitement
Thirty hours. That is how long I had the Air Hogs Shadow Launcher before it broke. It seemed to be made of really light plastic but my husband assured me remote control helicopters were made that way. The toy itself is a remote control car. You drive it, stop, launch the helicopter and then play. I received this as a BZZAgent for free and the whole family was excited and ready to try it. My husband kept saying, "I always wanted a remote control helicopter." I would NOT buy this toy for anyone - experienced with copters or not. It broke within a day of careful, proper use. When you give out such a toy, people are so excited they don't read directions and it would last probably only the first hour. First day, I played with it a total of an hour. Takes a bit to charge the helicopter to the remote's batteries. Then it holds charge for fifteen minutes of flying only UP into the air; after that it zooms around the floor and spins into stuff. The manual asks that you be careful not to crash into things. But thats really hard to do when its that hard to control and you're still learning. The car only goes forward and the wheels do not have much traction on flat or carpeted surfaces. When charged, only a few times was I able to move it left or right and that was definitely just a random series of button pushes. I did read the manual cover to cover. There's an adjusting knob when it spins too much. Well, when you try to turn the 'copter as directed, it spins and crashes. My husband also found it very difficult to NOT crash into stuff or to even control where it goes if it happens to go anywhere other than up. There was no way. And after a day of learning but gentle play with this toy, there were DENTS IN ONE OF THE ROTORS from a crash. If this is for kids, who are less careful, there are going to be more things wrong. So overall, I got 15 minutes of play, charged it again, another 15 minutes and my husband got the same. We got it for free but would have been ticked if we'd paid for this. We let our 8 year old play the next day. He read directions and I did a tutorial lesson for him... he had the same frustrations and was careful. But one of the flights, the copter veered into the wall and one of the rotors snapped in half. So it was broken. After 30 hours. If there are pros to this its probably the excitement and awe it caused. Hence the one start review. We have 5 kids under 8 and they LOVED it. If Air Hogs creates a plane made of more substatial material and its shown to actually work, you can bet I will buy it. I hope they will do this. Right now, I cannot recommend this to anyone.

    Air Hogs Shadow Launcher- disappointing!!!
We purchased this toy and my son had about 20 minutes of it working until things started to malfunction- so a complete waste of about $30. Planning to return the toy to walmart, but unfortunately tossed packaging.

    Easy to handle!!
I was able to try this product out through Bzzagent! My boys and I were so excited to receive the AirHog and try it out! When we got it in the mail we immediately opened and got started. We started out inserting batteries and charging the helo! Once that was finished we all had to decide who was going to be first to fly it! My 10 year old son was the first to fly. He started out by putting the helo into the jeep. The jeep does not drive the best but really they did not much care for the jeep they just wanted to fly the helo. My son caught on really quick. It was very easy to handle. my 8 and 6 year old both caught on quick as well. I do wish that it did not take batteries but had a usb port to be able to charge so far we have charged the helo about ten times and still is working so who knows maybe the batteries will last longer than I think! Overall this is a great helicopter. It handled great even by my 6 year old. Would definitely recommend.

    Lots of surprising fun!
I received this Air Hogs Shadow Launcher Car Copter as a Bzz Agent in exchange for my honest and complete review. I took a couple weeks from arrival to give enough time for quality and enjoyment to be factors of my review. My kids were so excited for this to arrive! I got it and had it completely charged before school dismissed so they weren't waiting for the initial setup to be completed. I felt the instructions were clear and easy. The toy packaging was perfect as well, not over done but done as it should be to protect the items, and for security. You will need 4 AA arteries to get this baby going. Charging was done fairly fast, less than an hour. The copter charges off of the remote hidden cord, which is a very handy feature. This is not a huge toy, the copter will fit in the palm of your hand and the car is about 6 inches long and 4 inches tall. The copter is 3 1/2 inches long. I gave the toy a try at first. I was concerned of quality, he copter blades bend easy and the plastic just seemed flimsy. However, after two weeks, this toy is still in great condition and running well. Learning the remote was difficult for me, but I soon got the hang of it.. You really don't use the car near as much as the helicopter, more like the car is just a small feature of the unit. After my husband I had our fun, the little ones were waiting and took over. My 8 year old son had an absolute blast with this. He got a hang of the remote, launch button, almost instantly. He was flying the copter all thru the house, down stairs, behind furniture and up near the ceiling fan. He had an absolute blast with it. He was even landing it on heads, which I quickly told him it wouldn't be a great idea as hair could become tangled. My 4 year old twins have been given the opportunity as well, to fly this guy around. They can't master the launch off the car but they sure love flying the helicopter and do fantastic with it. Keep in mind, this toy is advised for age 8 and above. I have since bought one for my sons friends birthday.

Great fun, but possible design flaw
I received the Air Hogs Shadow Launcher as a BzzAgent to try and honestly review. My boys ages 11 and 8 were both extremely excited! My 11 year old was quickly able to figure out the remote. My 8 year old took a bit more practice, but this is the first helicopter he has flown. They both the thought the truck was adequate, but it did not work well on hardwood floors. They boys thought it was really neat how the helicopter flew out of the truck. They truly enjoyed the helicopter. The flight time was much longer than other helicopters we have owned. The boys were able to fly it with ease and used it constantly. Our only disappointment was that the cylinder shape stabilizing bar chipped away at the blade until the blade eventually broke off. If they were to fix that glitch I would give it 5 stars.

Best in the category with affordable price.
My son recieved this toy around two weeks back and it has been his favorite ever since. We had family and friends over for labor day and he just raved about it.When he recieved it he was able to figure out the assembly by himself by going over the manual, Which I realised later that going through manual is absolutely necessary to make it work right. After assembly it takes 15 minutes for the helicopter to get charged with new batteries and helicopter's red light blinks everytime it needs charge.Car runs with remote as long as helicopter is inside,Like it says it is best suited for indoor use on softer grounds, Once my son got a hang of it he sneak attacked his sister, and she got him back later. Super fun toy indeed, better than a lot of other helicopters out there which charge for an hour and run for 15 mins this one charges in 15 mins and you can play for an hour. Only suggestion is they could have a youtube video link on the box that would make the use even easier.

    Great fun for 3 boys!
We got the toy the other day and it is a huge hit in our house!! I have 3 boys, (8, 6, & 3) and they all love this thing. It has a pretty steep learning curve to get used to using it. Here is what we have found after playing with it for a few days: 1. You have to charge the helicopter completely for the steering to work. If the light on the helicopter is flashing instead of solid red then it needs charged. The copter will still fly even if it flashing red, but it will spin and fall out of the sky when you try to steer it. Once the copter is fully charged the battery seems to last about 15 to 20 minutes before it needs to recharge. 2. The truck uses the helicopter charge to drive. The design is great and my boys love that you can drive the truck around and then launch the copter. But since the truck has no battery unit of it's own, it uses the copter and if you drive for too far before launching then the copter won't have enough charge to steer or fly well. 3. The truck has very little traction since the wheels are hard plastic instead of rubber. We solved this but putting rubber-bands around the front tires. Then it steered and drove perfectly on our hardwood and carpet. 4. Keep away from dogs and faces. As others have mentioned, the blades spin really fast and can hurt if they hit you. If the copter is fully charged then it handles better and easier to keep away from faces. My dog thinks it is really fun to chase and try to eat so I would also say to keep it away from your pets. Overall, we have loved this toy! I received it for free as a BzzAgent promotion for my honest review. I think these are going to go onto Christmas lists this year, since my boys argue over the one we have!

    Super cool toy
The only word that comes to mind when describing the Air Hogs Shadow Launcher is "AWESOME". I was given the opportunity to sample this product and review. Wow am I impressed. I have 2 boys 5 and 10 and both of them absolutely loved this toy. I may have to purchase one to alleviate the fighting at my house. The item seems durable for the few days we have been playing with it and battery life seems normal for this kind of toy. Overall i am very impressed :) I would definitely recommend purchasing this item :)
