Great convertable laptop!
I love this Acer Chromebook R13, this is my 1st laptop and I really couldn't be happier with it. All I had to do was charge it, then open it and start using this laptop because it's very user-friendly. Pros: The Acer Chromebook R13 is very versatile, you can set it up in many configurations from flat to A-frame, and even fold the keyboard all the way around flat to the back of the screen to use it as only an Ipad. Having a keyboard that you don't have to disconnect from the screen is a huge plus, you don't have 2 parts to keep track of, having the touch screen is awesome with a 13.3" full HD Touchscreen that is very crisp and clear. I really like being able to use the keyboard and touchscreen together! You can download apps (like an iPhone) and use this Chromebook for anything that you would use a desktop pc. It also has different ports on both sides of the keyboard to add headphones, etc. The memory is great, and the battery life is awesome - I used it for 5 days playing games, surfing and downloading without having to charge it. This is the very 1st time I've been able to video chat, this is very nice since I have family all over the USA. Cons: There is only one that I have found so far - the keyboard isn't backlit if it was this laptop would be perfect!

Broke when turn to a tablet
After few months of use, the connection between the screen and the keyboard broke. It will not last if you turn it to a tablet. Broke quickly, I send to the seller to fix it or replace it but no answer.

    All Around Great Laptop
The laptop arrived fully charged and after logging into my Google account, I was doing my normal activities in about fifteen minutes. This laptop is a major upgrade from my older HP Chromebook. The keyboard on that one never seemed right and I was constantly correcting my typing. I notice that I was immediately able to type faster and more accurately. The tablet function is useful but I have to remind myself to use it. I find it a little odd to hold it as a tablet and constantly mashing the keyboard on the back. I use the swipe input on my Android phone but I don't find it that helpful on a screen this large. If I want to type more than a few sentences I just easily return to the keyboard. I am using the "tent" configuration when I cook. I can see the recipe very easily. I use it in "display" when I am viewing video content while teaching my teenage son at home. This size is perfect for me and I just pop it right into my large tote that I use for everything else in my life. I use it about three days before I place it on the charger. Chromebook is apparently known for strong web security and I feel good knowing that my online banking and financial transactions are secure. I don't really keep up with what's going on in technology and I just want everything I use to work perfectly every time. I think this fits that need very well. I am completely satisfied with this laptop for all my needs.

    AMAZING LAPTOP!
My 15 year old daughter is in highschool and they have requested that each kid have their own laptop so they don't have to share. The Acer R13 Mediatek 2-in-1 Touch 4GB/64GB Chromebook is absolutely amazing and has some really cool capabilities! 1. You can text using your own phone number from the messenger app 2. Can be used as a tablet 3. App store capabilities 4. Can connect with your phone 5 Smaller than a traditional laptop and lightweight 6 easy to use 7. Clean layout 8. It is lightening fast! 9. Excellent battery life 10. Diverse sound and brightness levels 11. Has a blue light mode 12. It supports multiple browser extensions. 13. Can be modified to 4 different styles to use it. See picture below for all the ways it can be folded. These are the bullet points from my 15 year old who is utilizing this laptop to it's full capacity. I feel confident that this will last her quite a while and is State of the art technology. She loves that it is touchscreen as well and uses it in tablet mode quite often. It is easy for her to convert it back to the traditional laptop with keyboard in a flash to type up a quick report. If you are looking for a fast, versatile, and really cool laptop this is it!

    Beautiful Chromebook
Wow, very impressed with this Acer chromebook!! It's exceeded my expectations! I'm writing this review using this chromebook and I love how comfortable the keyboard feels. I have owned a Samsung Chromebook in the past and all my children use Lenevo Chromebooks for school. This Acer out shines them all and it's a beautiful device that looks just like my daughter's new (and expensive) Macbook Pro she bought for college...Acer chrome is actually a bit bigger than the Macbook Pro but lighter. I love chromebooks for the speed and simplicity, they can't do exactly everything a regular laptop can do but for someone like me who only needs to catch up on my emails, light social media, online banking, recipes, and likes to stream an occasional movie, this is PERFECT. Boot up time is really fast and it literally started up the second I first opened it up. The screen is BIG 13.3 inches with a nice full HD display and the touchscreen feature is a plus. It comes with 1-USB-C port, 1-USB 3 port, 1-HDMI port, 1- micro SD slot, headphone plug, and it's wifi and bluetooth enabled. It had no problem connecting it to my home wifi. I love how this acer chromebook is a 4-1 device with it's multi directional hinge. It can be folded all the way and becomes a touch screen tablet, or only folded a quarter of the way and propped up like a tent (this direction is best to view my recipes while cooking). My only worries is how long will it take before the hinge breaks, as I've had that happen with a windows based laptop I've owned in the past that had a similar multi directional hinge and it stopped working after the screen came off the hinge. I've had this Acer for a month now with daily use, so far the hinge is still in place and seems very sturdy. The long battery life on this Acer is exceptional, I can get a full 12 hours out of it with light web use. It comes with Google Play Store and the Google suite of apps. It also comes with a front camera but it's not as good as I thought it would be, the image seems a bit pixelated but I don't mind since I don't use it much. My experience with this Chromebook is it's a beautiful, sturdy device and an upgrade to the other chromes I've owned.

    Light and powerful
This is the first Acer chromebook I have ever owned. I am very impressed. The computer is sturdy and lightweight and built with a good quality of plastic. The touch screen is very responsive to multi touch pointing while in tablet mode. The screen is crisp and clear. The battery lasts a long time. I don't have to worry about the battery dying whenever it's not plugged in. The transition from laptop to tablet mode is smooth and effortless. I have no complaints.

Exceptional Quality Outperforms 97% of the market
When my "Acer R13 Mediatek 2-in-1 Touch 4GB/64GB Chromebook, 13.3 FHD Touch Display, MediaTek MT8173C Quad-Core Processor, 4GB LPDDR3, 64GB eMMC, Chrome OS - CB5-312T-K95W" Arrived, I was really excited to get into the System. Its both a Tablet and a Computer in 1 ~ Wondering how this was going to work. I found it difficult at first to get the Chromebook set up. But it was nicely packed for shipping. Opening the box I noticed that the screen flips all the way over in a (standing) tablet mode. (Downside, the Keyboard is not locked when you turn it to tablet mode. so you should (NOT) use it on your lap) However you can Stand it up, to touch the screen to activate what you want. My hope is, in the future they can look into (tablet mode) for keyboard lock. The F-keys (hot keys) do not have a keyboard lock function either. The only way to log into the chromebook is with a Google account, You can (1) set a new account up or (2) Tie your current Google account to the Chromebook. upon Entering the Chromebook, I noticed that the RAM was only in the 48.1 GB Out of a 64GB (advertised ~ Hard Drive With eMMC Tech. However it has a secondary Storage for memory, With 15GB of (Drive backup) Space. This Secondary (backup Drive) Off the main hard drive. *Is very ~ Smart if the device needs restored. For Chromebook main screen accommodates (games, apps, and links) From the 4GB LPDDR3 (ROM) Read only memory ~ The main system is running a 4GB (motherboard) system from Chrome (like windows) This affects the speed of the computer. Adding the *storage ~ values, 4 GB + 15 GB + 48.1 GB You have a computer with 67.1GB storage, ROM and RAM. Equivalent to the 64GB interface. Making that a REAL Positive. The 13.3" Touch screen is 11 1/2" By 7" For actual touch screen. Like a Television you measure the Dimensions of the screen by Left top / bottom corner to opposite right top / bottom corner. which is 13.3 " ~ TOTAL Chromebook size is 9" high X 13" wide ~ For the chromebook itself. This allows it to be portable and easily moveable, The weight is around 2.1 LB. There is 1 USB port 1 HDMI port 1 Micro SD card slot, A power button and an (external Volume button. For + and - ) All in-ports are Working, They are not quick to read from larger storage devices (connected) 32 GB +. But they are accessible and equal to the System Speed. This chromebook is not the fastest, It has lag, When your playing Music Videos, (not accessing Stored Music) This response is not immediate, it tends to lag after 4 - 5 Music Videos on Autoplay for (youtube.com) Library lists. *this lag is noticeable when attempting to go from full screen back to the Youtube app. When your in full screen, The touch for the app, is also Somewhat restricted ~ by Pause and play. Several times I had to touch the screen multiple times to get it to pause. When Trying to get out of full screen, the System Lagged over 20 seconds to bring me back to the (normal) view of youtube.com Another platform that does not work very good is (streaming Video and TV) I mainly use the VUDU app. The system's Processor ~ cause the Movies and TV, to lag from the (VUDU) app, This can happen around 5 min - 25 Min in. The Processor of the Chromebook, will try to load the next part of the Movie or TV show. (My internet Connection is 1 GB per sec) the internet speed is not the issue, all other devices I own (Apple Ipad X 6, Amazon Kindle X 4 10.1, HP Laptop X 4, 4 samsung smart TV's between 52" - 70") These do not have a lag off the same internet. Thus this is a processor speed issue from the Chromebook system. (Quad-Core Dual Processor) Another issue is Volume, But there are apps you can install to increase the Volume, Just be sure if you use these, you have the volume at a level that will not blow the speakers. Always start the apps on the lowest volume and slowly raise the volume, as the app becomes interactive. The speakers (when using this app) increase the volume up to 2.5 times the limited volume installed *restriction. I would suggest that Chromebooks place better quality speakers in, future chromebooks. (system sounds) are loud enough, it's only internet Streaming Sounds. NOTE: Google app, Best performance is (Audio booster) app. Add in extensions ~ The puzzle piece in the upper right corner by your Google (picture or letter) The best positives about the 2:1 Chromebook ` 1) Full 1980P X 1080p HD screen 2) HDMI ~ Meaning you can run a blu ray or DVD with HDMI off your Chromebook, You can also mirror your TV using this HDMI plug. With limited disturbance. 99.9% flawless play from my experience. 3) The Micro SD card slot is convenient up to 16GB Cards, The 32GB and 64GB cards I have, were unable to be accessed. Too Much information to process for processing speeds. 4) The Design for the (screen flip for Tablet mode) is strong and sturdy. Compared to any other chromebook on the market. 5) The weight for Table management and quality of the external layers for protection are Superior to other "Like" products. 6) The PPS (pixel per second) ratio for the FULL HD 1080p is amazing, as long as you are not streaming Digital ~ wirelessly. 7) Color contrast Ratio and White (white) / Black (blacks) are impeccable for this Chromebook. 8) The Plug (charge cord) is 10' Long. Which means you will have a longer range for charging and playing. Normal Cords are around 7' in legeth. 9) The Charge of the device will last about 6 hours playing Digital or streaming Video, Using the Chromebook for School or work, without Digital Streaming this chromebook can last up to 12 hours. in sleep mode it will last 28 hours. (this means you place the computer on sleep mode, and do not shutdown the chromebook *while unplugged) 10) No overheating issues this far. the Chromebook stays relatively cool even after 14 hours of consistent use, (streaming digital media) 11) Storage 67.1GB storage (total) 12) Touch Screen ~ 13) Screen size / Keyboard size for School / work / blogging / Journaling / Anything The Negatives 1) Digital media and streaming is restricted by processing speeds. (excluding HDMI Connection) 2) Sounds are restricted to limited quality and output. (can be solved By downloading (audio booster) Google Chrome Extension app. 3) Initial setup. and having to log into a Google account to open your system ~ If I was to suggest to Google, in the future, Allow access off internet. The keys are raised for easy access. I would definitely recommend for School and Work at a 5 star rating. However overall, For what I use my devices for, Streaming media, Watching Videos and listening to music as a secondary device, This is a 4.8 star for performance due to the processing speed restriction. As well as Motherboard LPDDR3 IF there was a way to extend this memory to 8BG or 12GB with the Quad-core, dual processors Was replaced by (Intel Core i5-8350U processor), I believe all the issues would be fixed. And this would be a far superior Chromebook to anything on the market. It still outperforms (97%) of the competitions on the market. The $450.00 Price tag is comparable to what you get. *overall ~ IF I was able to give it a 4.8 Rating overall I would. Note: Chromebooks are not normally used for ~ Digital Wireless Media Streaming ~ The (3) negatives mentioned above, are personal use expectations for 99% of the buyers, All (3) issues would not be an issue. For logical performance for Work and School, Writing, Research, Or most other platforms, this computer will outperform ~ once again ~ 97% of the chromebooks on the market.

Perfect convertible Chromebook for most people.
I've been using this Chromebook for a few weeks now, and I LOVE it! I won't get into too many technical details of it, because you can read that in the description. I primarily use it for surfing the web, social media, and YouTube videos. Chromebooks are always an "instant on", very fast, no lag experience, and this one follows suit. It has a good sized screen, while also easy to pack around the house, or travel. It does get quite a few fingerprints easily if you use it as a tablet, or utilize the touchscreen, but that's the case with any touchscreen product. It's built solid with metal, and feels well built. Battery life is very good as long as you don't have the screen brightness all the way up. 10 to 11 hour is realistic. It does run down a little quicker than I'd like when in standby mode, but not an issue. The one drawback with Chromebooks is storage, and this one isn't an exception. 64gb on board. I wouldn't plan on storing many photos or videos on it. Definitely utilize the cloud option, which is by design. The keyboard and trackpad both work well and are responsive and accurate. There are larger trackpad options, but this one does all the same functions as the others. Overall, if you are want a tablet, need the keyboard functionality occasionally, and want a lag free experience with a great battery life, I'd give this one a look. It's a great value for what you get. All in a compact, high quality package. I'd definitely recommend this one!

    Thin, Lightweight, Fast
Perfect Chromebook for typing up and storing my papers on. It has plenty of memory for me to store quite a few documents. The standard memory is 4gb with 64gb of flash memory and can take a microSD card if more space is needed. This Chromebook was easy to setup and to add my favorite apps to the home screen. I love watching movies on this because the picture comes in very clear (Full HD/Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080). I usually use the touchscreen feature and bend the screen back to turn the Chromebook into a tablet while watching movies. I've sometimes used the HDMI port to watch the movies on my Acer predator monitor. The sound coming from the two speakers is awesome and the Bluetooth feature allows me to use my headphones for when I need to drown out the noise around me. Another one of the many benefits is that this Chromebook is only 3.3lbs and very thin. I have a morning commute that includes walking, a bus ride, and a long train ride. With all that traveling, I needed a Chromebook that was easy on the back and slim enough that it wouldn't take up much space in my backpack and not much space when being in a cramped bus/train. People aren't to hip on folks having bulging bags when there is limited room on public transportation. This Acer Chromebook has a 3.0 USB port a type-c USB port, one HDMI port and a microSD slot. The backlight is LED and the battery lasts up to 12 hours. Speed of 2.10 GHz and the processor core is Quad-core. Chromebook's operating system is Chrome OS. Has a touchpad and a touchscreen.

    Nice little unit
This is a great unit. It's fast, sleek, powerfully functional and solidly constructed. It's unfortunate that you cannot use iTunes on a chromebook. The machine boots up rapidly and has all the functional interface ports that you'll need. The battery life is outstanding. The touchscreen/tablet versatility to a standard laptop is a huge perk. All in all, this is a great product!
