When all you have is a radio
If you have a classic muscle car or maybe some of the new model vehicles, you will find that you don't have an option when it comes to your entertainment choices. You either replace the unit that came with the vehicle or pay upcharge dealer prices on the new ones to get an MP3 plug in or heaven forbid, you get talked into a new, very expensive factory unit. The BasAcc FM transmitter allows you to plug in a portable or hand held device( CD,Cassette,MP3,MP4.....) and hear the playback through your FM radio. I first ran into this technology in the late 70's at a drive-in next to Ascot Park in California. I pulled in and paid at the booth, then they handed me a piece of paper with the FM channel to tune to. I parked and adjusted the radio and was astounded at the clear sound. (this is the 70's remember) I got the same experience when I plugged this unit in. The sound was clear even after I tried different devices and pecked around for different radio channels. In addition the unit comes with a USB charging port so you can attach your device to a power supply using USB. The only thing missing is a power supply for devices that do not run on USB. But that's what they make two plug cigarette lighter adapters for. Just think,no more driving the classic without your favorite tunes to listen to or putting up with Sirius radio charges because that's what came with the vehicle. This device is so easy to use that your kids will have it figured out before you do. It's all plug and enjoy your music even with the comments from the back seat about "classical" music. This device is portable so it can go from vehicle to vehicle without any wiring to do. It fits in your pocket. Those of us who still like and use cassettes will enjoy this. YES,you need this and while you're at it pick up a couple of them because you will find they will get used ....Often.

Do not buy
It barley even works. There is this really loud fuzz when you are playing the music. I would recommend spending a little more money on a better quality one. Don't buy it's a waste of money

    FM TRANSMITTER
To anyone in need of a FM transmitter this is the one to get, it charges my phone fast, and there is relatively nö static. When I pass trees you can here it abit but it's nothing unreasonable. However this is my second purchase because the wires on my first transmitter wore out. I would suggest not stretching the cords continually ( this happened 6 months later) sometimes I may hit the button on the device changes the changes channeled completely however it's easy to find its way back. I WOULD DEFINLTY SUGGEST BUYING THIS DEVICE.!

    It works OK
Pretty simple product powered from cigarette lighter; 3.5mm plug goes into source like MP3 player. Then best tune to either highest or lowest frequency on your radio's FM dial (107.x or 87.x), match the frequency on this transmitter's dial and listen. In most cases I think the sound is not quite MP3 quality (especially if you are an audiophile) but good enough. One possible issue - as I was tuning the transmitter to the radios' frequency, the display started to flicker erratically. I think if I leave it on FM 107.9 it will be OK, though.

    Great for older vehicles!
This product was very easy to use and worked with all our cell phones. Our phone music comes through the truck speakers loud and clear!

    Acceptable Alternative
I don't have an input audio jack on my car stereo. My 2003 Honda Odyssey actually still has a cassette player, in fact! So for years I've used a cassette converter to plug in my iPod or iPhone to listen to music or audio books while driving. Lately I've noticed that the sound of the cassette player is starting to deteriorate, and I know it's only a matter of time before it gives out on me. As I'm not going to repair it, I need to have another option in place. The BasAcc In Car Universal Wireless FM Transmitter seems to be a good alternative for me when that time comes. It's very self-explanatory—you plug in the jack to your audio device (MP3 player, phone, etc.), then insert the other end of the cord into the car's cigarette lighter. Choose your radio frequency on the transmitter, and set your car radio to the same frequency. Make sure your sound is turned up on both the audio device and your car stereo, hit “play” on your device and enjoy! The back of the plug on the cigarette lighter end also has a USB port, so if you need to plug in a device (like the charger for your phone), that is still available. I thought that was a smart feature. There are a few drawbacks to the transmitter, but they aren't deal breakers. Getting the plug into the cigarette lighter took some effort—it was kind of a tight fit. Also, depending on what radio frequency I chose, sometimes I would get a bit of static on the stereo. Tip: Choose a frequency that's pretty empty in your region. If 98.7 is a powerful, popular radio station, stay away from that. If 90.4 is completely vacant, that would be a better choice. Overall, this is a simple product that will do in a pinch. Great for those of us who don't have modern day input jacks or USB ports built into our vehicles.

seriously awesome.. nothing could describe it bett
I received the BasAcc universal wireless FM transmitter with hands free and charger from the spark review program. I really didn't 'need' this, but boy am I glad I requested to try it. I knew I'd be making a 7.5h trip from Iowa to Indiana for my youngest sons graduation and I figured it'd be handy to try. So after waiting I finally used it. I plugged it into my car charger and the phones headset I was ready use the transmitter at that point. So, after i plugged in, and set it to the right station. (Same that the car station is on) and plugged in the charger it was ready to go. The transmitter was awesome. It keyed up when I had a text message and fb. Other than that I listened to music the whole way home. Yesterday I found out another good use. The 'maps'program in my phone will tone down the music so you can hear the automated directions thru the speakers. That was great. I'd recommend that to everyone and anyone!

Add Handsfree Calling and MP3 Music to Your Car!
My SUV is a 2003, so I needed an adaptor to have hands free calling and to use my MP3 player through my stereo speakers in my car. This was the perfect answer! It was so easy to install this unit... just plugged it in to the lighter outlet, turned the radio to FM, scanned through the dial until it stopped at silence, used arrows on the unit to get same frequency on the unit, then I plugged in my MP3. And I now have my favorite music, and hands free phone conversations! I was using a similar item, but this one is so much better, since it also has a usb port, so I can still charge my phone without removing the transmitter! And there is almost 35 inches of cord from the plug to the channel selector, and another 16 inches from the channel selector to the 3mm plug that goes into the speaker port of my MP3 or phone. So I was able to "customize" the installation for an attractive, neat appearance The sound on both phone and MP3 player is excellent. If you like your car speakers, you will like the sound. I was surprised at the clarity of sound, the power light for night time, and the ease in set-up. "Plug and play" at it's best! Sounds just as good as my Friends' bluetooth connections in their autos, but mine did not require a car payment! This is a great, well-priced item!

    GREAT TRANSMITTING STEREO SOUND!
Since we live in a very mountainous, and rural area in S CA, reception is not always good, and can't get our Family Radio (.org) station tuned in. The DVD player quit working, too, so this wireless FM transmitter, connected to the smartphone from the empty cigarette lighter, helps makes those driving trips so much better now :-) Now we can listen to our music and Family Radio in stereo! And while we're listening, the transmitter is staying fully charged, so no need to worry about it going dead :-) It was very easy to hook up, just 2 simple ends to connect (easy to follow instructions included, also :-) I believe it will work with most any smart phone, tablet, or other device, as long as it has a 3.5 mm jack . You have to find an unused frequency for it to work though, so to save time going through each channel, check out radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/vacant. Put your zip and state in to find out which stations to use, especially if you're on a long road trip. I was a bit curious as to why the price was first listed at $49.99, and went down to $12.99, but just glad the price is lower, and well worth the purchase :-)
