Not for my kid
Seat is not adjustable and its position isn't comfortable for riding. The pedals are so high it causes the child's knees to come up to their chest. Raising the seat isn't an option because then their feet will not touch the ground. Hope to exchange for more suitable option.

    Issue with brakes
    Ok, so after I put money into the brakes, I'd give this a 4 1/2 star rating. I bought this for my 9 year old, spent $100.00 even. My buddy bought his son a $250.00(+) bike from a bike shop. Comparison... the two bikes look almost identical, frame, forks, 3 piece crank seems all the same but the Mongoose is lighter - so that was good. My two issues are this: The brakes aren't really setup to accommodate small hands of a 9 year hold so we had to modify them a lot. I ended up taking it to a bike shop and they charged me 20 bucks to adjust them and also told me that the set screw to adjust the brake handle position was stripped out. Not good as it was a day old when I took it to the shop and there was no set screw included in the box. Item two, beware... the seat does NOT pivot forward or backwards. You can only adjust height. This seems extremely strange to me as every rider is different. It's pitch is very upright. All in all, I'd recommend for price but do have these two issues with it.

    for a brand new item it arrived with the paint chipped in numerous spots and the reflector broken, while my son didn't care as much as I did because he is a boy and it will only get scuffed up and what not, it was still a Christmas present and should have arrived in new condition.
