Remarkably Efficient Treatment of Small Lawns
Scotts Hand-Held Spreader is the ideal spreader for treatment of properties with different grasses in multiple small lawn areas which range from the fully shaded to those in full sun. The amount of, say, fertilizer to be delivered to a particular lawn area can be easily loaded and evenly spread with this handy and durable spreader season after season. Jams within minutes of use. WORTHLESS!!
I had an earlier model of this spreader and loved it. It worked great year after year. Ex-wife got it in divorce so I replaced it with the new version. Within a few minutes of beginning to fertilize my small lawn with Scotts product the handle became increasingly difficult to turn. I kept soldiering on and it actually wore a huge painful blister on my thumb. Then the handle broke. I thought it was a fluke so I took it back to Lowes and got another one. It too became increasingly difficult to turn. This product is WORTHLESS! Why would Scotts take a GREAT product and then cheapen it up to the point is has ZERO value??? DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

    Used and abused over the last 20 yrs.
    I first purchased one the first time I had to maintain a yard per my lease, 20 years ago. I moved frequently being in retail management and it was the 'Time of the Mall" RIP. After numerous pack and moves, I lost track of the first one and purchased another one 10+ years later. It is now 2021 and I am much older, I still have a 1 3/4 acre yard and it has (Both have, I've since found the first one packed in a shed for 12 years) on the job every spring and summer. I use it in the winter to feed the wild birds with broadcast bird seed. In the summer they earn their kept eating mosquitoes. Great product and with some basic cleaning it will last many seasons.     Light and easy to use
    Gave me many years of good service till one day the the trigger felt different, light with no back pressure. Took it apart today and see the plastic broke of the back of the trigger that creates the back pressure or just call it return spring that's not really a spring. Wish I could just get that part. Might have to McGiver it.. Still a great tool and if I have to I will buy another.

    Absolutely worthless
    Used this spreader once a year for 3 years. Tried to put some granular insert preventative down today but the handle froze and was impossible to turn. Tried cleaning it (quite a bit of the granules got inside the housing somehow) but the handle just skipped through the plastic gears. After 3 uses, it’s in the garbage.

    Handy little hand spreader
    We reciently resodded a section of our lawn. This little hand held spreader was just perfect for applying starter fertilizer in just that area. It is easy to use, easy to clean up and easy to store. Very happy with all the uses it has.......also works great during the winter to spread salt to a slippery sidewalk.     great for spreading seed in specific areas.
    I am glad to have this tool. When we bought our new home it had no grass, so we spread grass with the big spreader, but sometimes you have spots that don't take off as well.     This product is so user friendly even a child can use it!
    The ease in which the Scott Hand held spreader can be used is an absolute dream, light weight , yet sturdy and so easy a child can use it!     Superb product
    I bought this hand-held spreader to apply some fescue grass seed and it was easy to set and apply the seeds (uniform application) rather than spreading the seed with your hands and clumping a batch of seed and some areas not having any seed.     Exactly what I needed for the area I was working in
    I purchased this product on name recognition alone. Once I got it home and started using it I truly understand why Scotts is the number one name in this industry.
